****Official Republican Debate 2023 Thread****

I planned on watching the debate, but this guy Vivek was so annoying I couldn't stand it. He was playing the Orange Turd irritation game which no doubt endears him with the Cult but does not work otherwise.
Yep I walked away from a lot of this shit. Watching the MSNBC analysis of this joke now.

I made a volitional choice not to watch live so I could spend time with family. Damn, just based upon posts and videos, it looks like a complete shiteshow.

Do better Republicans. An utter clusterfook. There used to be some good GOP people. Not anymore. Truly Pathetic. SO, unless something changes, I have no problem voting for a person that I don't think should run due to his age.

Liked Haley the best but am a dem voter so guessing the republicans felt differently. I do plan to caucus republican so she’d have my vote if only based on tonight.

For the couple republicans here, who did you like best? Assume none did enough to really weaken Trump as front-runner.

I intend to vote for someone from the wider field in the Primary. After tonight, that would appear to be either Haley or Christy. They were the only two who took an aggressive stance on helping Ukraine. The others either sided with Putin or pivoted to the border issue as having a higher priority.

I would like for Haley to show a bit more fire, but she did have her moments.

Christy made points by describing what he saw on his visits to Ukraine, and sounded highly committed to their cause and to the cause of freedom everywhere.

............................................

Overall, I was not that impressed.

On the subject of abortion, it is very difficult to stake out a position. The only philosophically pure positions are the two extreme positions. Every other position sounds wishy-washy. ... numbers of weeks, numbers of arms; letting states decide v. letting the federal government decide v. letting would-be parents v. letting old white Christians decide.

The GOP isn't worthy of a vote if your a serious American citizen.

Idiot Vivek talks about faith. He's an orthodox hindu whose middle name is a hindu God.

Vivek is south Indian and a vegetarian.

This guy would be a fringe candidate in India.

And this ass clown thinks he's going to win in the heartland with people who make red dot hindu jokes?

Gop you need a hindu like me who eats beef, who has bedded the elusive white female, went to a state law school and can dial up to crazy anytime. I can out vivek vivek in a freaking coma.

What a f'ing weirdo. Reminds me of that Chappelle kkk skit.

Not from a policy perspective but just a politics perspective on Haley, I’d be curious how some of her comments about being a woman (and as she was the only woman on stage) play to the republican voters. I did see some republicans on reddit a bit annoyed that she brought it up (i.e. identity politics) multiple times. However, that group skews young men. I wonder if it is a nice selling point to conservative women / suburban women.

Knowing how fvcking stupid Iowa voters are recently, I can envision Vivek jumping RonnyBoy in Iowa within a few weeks.
The anti establishment stuff seems to resonate with lower IQ citizens.

Vivek was Turd's "stand in" tonite.

Yep he's 2nd in Iowa for sure. But the twice impeached, 4 time indicted terrorist still leads the way!

They will figure out he's brown and eats veggies only. Maybe he can attend a steak fry.

Republicans still face a stiff headwind in the general election regardless who their nominee is... a majority of voters disagree with the Republican stance on abortion.
That's indisputable.
The dems will win in a landslide. Mark my words. People are freaking livid.
