These tournament games are not being officiated to suit Iowa’s style. Apparently the NCAA prefers 50 point football style games.
Considering the SC didn't seed the Hawks as a 4 - which they more than deserved after the past 5 weeks and then winning the BTT vs 3 straight NCAA tourney teams - then podding Iowa in Milwaukee or hell, even Indianapolis, is the least they could have done.Exactly. I have no problem with Iowa State playing in Milwaukee. The selection committee certainly gave the Cyclones a favor. But they could have put Iowa in that pod as well.
The Killer for the Moc Fans is that the refs failed to call an obvious goal tend in the first half which was the difference in the game...I think Kofi had even slammed the backboard too - not sure how in the heck NONE of the zebras saw it either...That's tournament basketball. Always games where a team that shouldn't advance does. That was Chattanooga's game for the taking! Illinois had no business winning that game.
Iowa State wins its first game……wonderful.
Its such a bright orange, that if all the lights in the place went out, you'd still see it because of the neon glow.I'm being serious. I hate how orange this basketball is. It's distracting.
That brings up a great point. Do you think Iowa would have gotten that call if they were Miami in that situation? So it's a foul in the first half but because it happened at the end of the game it shouldn't be called? Are you the ref that swallowed the whistle on Kris's three yesterday?
How in the world did Iowa State get such a favorable matchup as an 11th seed?
Burn AmesThat is a clutch 3 by the clones.
Burn Ames
Way to beat a team reeling after having their coach fired between the Selection Show and game time tonight, Clowns.
Real hardship there.
Iowa fan’s nightmare. Potential for Iowa State and Wisconsin playing on Sunday with the winner going to the Sweet 16 in Chicago
Fail to see how the two situations - Richmond and LSU's - were remotely similar, but whatever. As an Iowa fan, can you really talk shit right now? Hawks were the team with all the MO this year and lost to the Richmond Spiders. The Richmond.. ****ing... Spiders,.... just stop... the ****ing Richmond Spiders.
I think the point of the poster was that the situations weren’t similar, but one team took advantage of their opportunity while the other took a massive dump.Fail to see how the two situations - Richmond and LSU's - were remotely similar, but whatever.
Still hate ISU and will never root for them in anything.
Well, one of the hottest teams in the country lost in the first round to the Richmond Spiders (12 seed) and ISU, who floundered and looked embarrassed in their conference tourney won their 1st round game against a power 5 team in LSU.Fail to see how the two situations - Richmond and LSU's - were remotely similar, but whatever.
Still hate ISU and will never root for them in anything.
Still getting beaten by a toothpaste...Wisconsin potentially on pace to set a scoring record.
That’s our co-champ out there. Good gawd the B1G sucked .Wisconsin potentially on pace to set a scoring record.
If there’s one thing we’re learning today it’s that the B1G has finally risen to the level of programs like Chattanooga and Colgate…Wisconsin potentially on pace to set a scoring record.
No team had a more favorable matchup than Iowa and they pissed it away. How in the world did Iowa State get such a favorable matchup as an 11th seed?
Welcome to the NCAA tournament. Wait until you play ISU. Foul every possession. These tournament games are not being officiated to suit Iowa’s style. Apparently the NCAA prefers 50 point football style games.
ISU is really going to suck without Brockington next year.Well I’d rather have our Hawkeye team lose I. The first round than a team of transfers. There I said it.
