With Mo Ibrahim & Trey Potts already done for the year, Bryce Williams suffered a lower leg injury against Northwestern & is likely done for the year as well. They're now down to true freshman Mar'Keise Irving and redshirt freshman Ky Thomas, plus redshirt sophomore Derik LeCaptain, a linebacker and special teams player who's added offensive duties.
Despite those injuries, they rushed 53 times for 306 yards on their way to a 41-14 victory at Northwestern. Irving carried 19 times for 110 yards and two touchdowns, and on Monday was named the Big Ten's freshman of the week. Thomas rushed 21 times for 106 yards, marking the second consecutive game in which both he and Irving surpassed 100 yards.
