OT - ISU putting the full court press on Carr?

I hope ISU gets him, and I think they do. Cornell already has Merola(2018) and Ramirez(2019) committed in his projected weight range, they don't really need him as badly as ISU does. Could be a program/culture changer for ISU. I'd like to see ISU claw their way back in to the top 10 in the future.

Pretty solid recruiting class for ISU if they have #5 Carr, #46 Shapiro, #82 Duggan, and Lara I believe of note. I'd like to see them snag Aaron Brooks away from PSU if they could (they're in his top 5), though I highly doubt that will happen lol. But having Carr there could be an attractive training partner for him if Carr is 165 and Brooks is 174.

Also of note: Aaron Cashman visited ISU over this past weekend. Staff there seems to have moved on from Teske fairly quickly..

The Cashman family is likely using ISU to up the offer from Minny. He won't leave State of Minnesota, imo.

He wants no part of McKee, doubt it is Minnesota. Cornell is involved from what I heard. Maybe the OTC.

Carr is down to either Cornell or Iowa State is the word on the Ohio boards, with ISU the favorite I guess. We shall see.

He is announcing live on Flo tomorrow morning.

I have to say I am fairly shocked as I thought he was all Buckeye for the longest time. If he does in fact chose ISU like the rumblings say, that would be HUGE for ISU. Carr is my #2 overall prospect in this loaded class only behind Gable Stevenson in my opinion. Obviously others (better, more informed, and professional "others") disagree with that, but I have had those two as my top 2 for several years now and I stand behind it.

That has to soothe the sting of losing Teske for Cyclone fans.
Don't sleep on Tom Ryan here.

My point stands...he's using Ames for leverage because ISU is where lightweights go to become irrelevant.

No, your point doesn't stand. You don't know anything. You have a very blind hatred for ISU which is apparent, and more than fine..but it doesn't mean that you know what you're talking about.

Cashman will go to OTC or Cornell if it's the college route.

Guess we will see. I'll admit if I am wrong.

BTW : Lots of optimism on the Carr announcement. That will definitely be a feather in KD's hat.

Tom Ryan will not go down without a fight here, but am hopeful ISU can land him.

I read some stuff that there were questions on Cashman getting big enough.

He is small - but he is as big, if not bigger than Teske - definitely has a way more developed body - i think he has a better chance than Teske at growing into a 133 IMO - We'll see

If that turns out to be the case - TnT should have been after this kid. He is a stud.

The coaching change at Shakopee is putting out studs. Good place to get a foot in the door.

I think the Crowe kid is going to be a stud in college.

I hope they get no one that's a top 10 p4p guy.

Yes, the coach at Shakopee is Jackson who was at Apple Valley for many many years. He is a great coach and has lots of connections to get kids to come and wrestle for him..

Some posters on another Ohio forum are saying Nebraska is still in it too, but the majority are saying he is all Cyclone. We shall see shortly.

Since no one is predicting Cornell. I am going to predict Cornell. Reason being, his brother is close to him and he has become good friends with Cornell's other stud recruits from the Junior World Team.

Good for KD & ISU. I think its great to have talent coming into the state. Somebody needs to get 2nd & 3rd behind Iowa in the coming years, and I'd love for that to be ISU and UNI

I’m glad he went ISU as well. I miss having competitive duals with them. They still have a long was to go but they are putting together a very solid squad.

Now it is time to see how this highly heralded, new coaching staff can develop. They actually have a ton of very young talent. Now let's see what they can do with it.

125:Vega(#51 recruit) RS Freshman
133: Gomez(#11) Freshman, Simmons(#31 recruit) RS Sophomore, Parker(#80) RS Freshman
141:Storr(#35) RS Freshman
149:Leisure(#95) Freshman
157: DiBlasi(#80) RS Sophomore
165:Carr(#5) 2018 recruit
174:Coleman(#78) Freshman
184:Shapiro(#46) 2018 recruit
197:Colbray(#11) RS Freshman
285:Gremmel(84) RS Freshman

That obviously isn't a PSU top 10 recruit list, but it is pretty damn solid, top to bottom.

The kid is an absolute stud. He has taken more loses than some of the other "elite" recruits over the years. Probably most notably to his seemingly never ending series with in State rival, Jaden Maddox and out of State rival, Joe Lee. However, look at how often he is competing against the very best competition. It seems like he is in every big event and as a result, he has dropped some matches here and there. But, when the bright lights are on, he thrives. Recently, he has put a beating on both of his "rivals," each when it mattered most or at least had the most people watching and paying attention. He majored Maddox in the State Finals last year and everyone just saw what Carr did at Junior Free and WNO to Lee.

Enjoy another Carr Cyclone fans! I believe this will be the wrestler that Devin Carter and before him Cody Gardner were suppossed to be for Dresser and the Virginia Tech program. I believe Carr will be a two time NCAA Champ at a minimum.

Also Degen (#83) RS Freshman
Plus Dante Rodriguez was ranked top 100 I believe along with Francis Duggan and DiBlasi in this year's class.

3 in top 11 p4p and 16 in top 100

Potentially a program changer for Iowa State. The sky is the limit for Carr. I am surprised. I thought tOSU all the way.

Nate Carr landing job in ISU program or department announced in 3....2.....:). All makes sense regardless. Not enough room or money in tOSU, PSU, Cornell etc? Seems like best fit being a legacy.
