With a 1/4 going for over $1K butchered these days a whole cow is pretty pricey for the average midwestern college student.

Did he buy by the Grand Champion grass fed steer at a 4H fair?

Don't know. I could see if someone would take a poll though.

My wife and I get a cow and a pig butchered every year.
You must be huge and not in a good way. Barr gained 20lbs of muscle with one cow — and intense workouts. Doubtful you train like that. And, a cow + plus a big every week. You should have your own reality tv show.

Did Aaron Brooks buy a cow from Kasak’s dad too

People have families to feed my guy. A cow plus hog ain’t crazy.

I've heard many of them have the same Dr. Can't remember her name, but it was something like Dr. Addie Rol. It makes sense if they shop at the same cow store as well. They probably got a few calves thrown in with their Cyber Monday orders.

A year, not weekly. But nevermind. Just continue with your silly routine of being the bitter smuck because some college kid can afford something that as a working adult you can't.

Oh, now it’s “yearly” after a quick edit to the post. Either way, did Brooks buy a cow from Kasak’s dad too? Oh, I don’t work little guy — I’m retired (at age 48). And, I don’t eat bacon.

Are you joking? Everyone knows Brooks eats Buffalo.

Nah…Quarter beef only about $350-$400.
I don't know where you buy your quarters from. You should get roughly 125-150 lbs of meat out of a quarter. For less than $3.00 a lb in cost?! I doubt it. The processing alone is $150-$200 around here for a quarter. I buy 2 or 3 quarters a year for years now and have never done it for less than $600 with processing. Just bought one last week and paid $750 for the quarter at $3.00 per lb hanging weight. I will have at least $900 in it after processing, which is the most ever for me.

Maybe 10 years ago.

That's more like it. We got a couple 4 years ago for $500-600. The 1/2 we bought in '22 or '23 was $1500. The one (1/4) we bought this year was just over $1000 with processing, and that was buying from family.

I just bought a full beef couple weeks ago. Locker charged my $600 it was an Amish guy in kalona and I doubt you could find one cheaper. The beef itself was a little over $3500 for the full.

I paid the the Amish family we buy our milk and eggs from $2.50/lb. for a 1/2 beef(402lbs) 2 months ago.

Total came to $1,365.85 after processing. Only got 1/2 the number of steaks though.. (Cuz I had em cut 1 1/2” thick this year)😎😆
