Friday will be his first real big test. We’ll know a lot more about where he is after that match.Depends on his seed come March. Only the top three seeds have a better chance of winning than not AAing.

Indeed. With Ventresca and Flynn losing, and Volk out for the year, a win over Smith likely puts Lilledahl at 4 or 5 in Intermat's rankings.Friday will be his first real big test. We’ll know a lot more about where he is after that match.
You can see the confidence in him. He's smooth and has a good arsenal. Couple that with being a 4 time world finalist, 2 time champ and the sky is the limit. He can beat anyone in that weight class.I agree Probably the best team psu team, but why do you think their 25 lber is a finalist. Im not saying he wont be but whats making you say this right now.
😯😯You might be right. I was wrong in my post, I saw the Lehigh match along with the MSU, All Star classic matches. I'm going to Iowa also. I don't get to go to a lot of matches, i saw Lehigh in 2017, one last year at PSU along with the big Tens and Michigan the year prior I think. They won the title in all of those years, but they look so much better this year. They lost two individual matches total this year to date.
It's pretty silly.
We'll see how these next few weeks go, but I'd be surprised if that changes much as long as they're wrestling their starters...😯😯
Penn State has only lost 2 individual matches this YEAR? Is that what I'm reading?
Wth??
Pretty pathetic for a team with a lineup of all p4p top 5 guys.😯😯

The starters have. They have another loss or two by backups.😯😯

The two losses were 4-2 to Crookham and in SV to KOT.Pretty pathetic for a team with a lineup of all p4p top 5 guys.
That's freaking crazy. LolThe starters have. They have another loss or two by backups.
So the two losses are to scrubs, that makes me feel a little better. 🤩🤩🤩The two losses were 4-2 to Crookham and in SV to KOT.
Fair enough, but Im putting him 3-6 right now. I think 125 has a few under the radar guys that will be ready to party in marchYou can see the confidence in him. He's smooth and has a good arsenal. If Iowa has to take out transfers then so does PSU. Take out Mesenbrink and Kerkvliet. Very good chance Kennedy wins at 165 and Kueter wins at HWT without MM and KerkI’m wasn’t referring to March
Funny that PSU doesn't count Messenbrink, Kerk and Starroci as "transfers". Take Starroci's 1.2 Million away, and you would have Barr at 184, Cochran at 197, and Mirasola/Nevills at HWT. That's 2 transfers and an NIL addition. Iowa has Teemer, Parco, Buchanan and Caliendo. Plus, Cael has been playing funny games with the NLWC for years, and paying kids after graduation as a recruiting tool. Do you remember the Max Dean deal that benched Michael Beard? At least Iowa's not using the portal to upgrade All-Americas - that's what kills the sport. Would you prefer PSU to beat the #2 team in the country by 80 points every year? Is that fun? You should be happy Iowa can use the portal to make it competitive, isn't the sport all about winning tough match-ups!Without the NIL transfers, Iowa scores the same amount of points as Michigan st.
This rhetoric is getting old. You should focus on OKST who has 6 transfers in their line-up, Michigan has 3, Minnesota has 4. Iowa State has 3 tranfers, 3 Cubans and 2 more transfers coming soon. I wouldn't call Iowa and outlier by any means.Without the NIL transfers, Iowa scores the same amount of points as Michigan st.
No. Levi majored Franek.Funny that PSU doesn't count Messenbrink, Kerk and Starroci as "transfers". And Ayala, Kennedy at 165, Gabe at 174, Ferrrari at 184, at Keuter at HWT will outscore Michigan State's NCAA total during RD 1 of NCAAs.
Didn't Levi Haines only beat Siebrecht 3-2 last year?
That's right, that was '23.No. Levi majored Franek.
You corrected only that, I assume we have one PSU fan that doesn't take issues with Iowa's transfers then! No. Levi majored Franek.
Where did Starocci transfer from, Erie Prep?Funny that PSU doesn't count Messenbrink, Kerk and Starroci as "transfers". That's including dual meets not the ewca classic. Bartlett lost to Mendez at that event.😯😯

Davis and Haines respectively. The two losses were 4-2 to Crookham and in SV to KOT.
Rhetoric? It's true , yes others are using it but Iowa has used the portal. This rhetoric is getting old. A few years ago, NW was Michigan's farm team, now all we hear about is Iowa's connection with ASU - who will likely be losing a few more great wrestlers to another school really soon.
PSU had six finalists last year, losing two very close matches . I'm pretty certain they'll do very well in March.uh NO!!! Time to PUMP the breaks!!! Certainly good, now lets see how a few fair against better competition???
LillyLiver I would bet has a better shot at NOT AAing then winning it!!!
133- see above!!!
who is at 41 pepeLaBue AKA the Stall guy? He will likely AA but more then likely will NOT be in the finals again!
149 VanMess kid looks pretty good but there are better!!! Watch and see
157 KoJack aint doing JACK!!!low AA at best
who is at 165 now?MessAsmittyyiodt??? He is good I will give you that.
174The Jeans kid is tuff but another stall rider and it will cost him
184 will be sorry he came back when he loses!!!
197 another wait and see but LOW AA i would guess
Heavy KerKIN feels terrible because GABLE is back!!!
I don't call Bartlett a hammer, but since he finished second I guess that can be said about him. Davis may or not be one.The difference this year is that there are hammers at every weight. On the past teams, there were always a couple weights that clearly weren’t NQ quality or at least a struggle to qualify and wouldn’t AA, no matter how many potential champs they had (most years it was 125, LOL). This year’s team’s “weak links” are still AA contenders.
125 last year was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. You could pick names out of a hat for the top 20 in any match.
He's not saying starocci transferred.Where did Starocci transfer from, Erie Prep?
Funny that PSU doesn't count Messenbrink, Kerk and Starroci as "transfers"He's not saying starocci transferred.
Read all what he said. If you can't understand after that I don't know how to help you.Funny that PSU doesn't count Messenbrink, Kerk and Starroci as "transfers"
Looks like he is .
maybe if he went to the PSU board and worshipped his own team he would better understand things. I am sure there are actually PSU fans on their own board that really care about the zany antics of PSU wrestling and they could all stroke each other's egoRead all what he said. He explained that Mesenbrink and Kerkvliet are transfers and Starocci was retained with NIL $.Funny that PSU doesn't count Messenbrink, Kerk and Starroci as "transfers"

I called him a transfer in quotes for the very reason that he wouldn't be on the team but for MONEY. You don't get any correction points in today's class!Where did Starocci transfer from, Erie Prep?
The rhetoric being that Iowa is the only ones doing it and getting all the attention....that's the spin. Again, read my whole post, I clearly admit Iowa is using it and then name all the OTHER schools that are as well, but are often ignored or left OUT of the story. That qualifies as rhetoric by every definition of the word. The rhetoric typically being spewed by MineoRhetoric? It's true , yes others are using it but Iowa has used the portal.
I don't think that's ever been the rhetoric in the larger wrestling community. Michigan started it with Suriano & Brucki, and then bought half their starting lineup last year. If you're letting Mineo get you triggered, that's on you.The rhetoric being that Iowa is the only ones doing it and getting all the attention....that's the spin. The portal itself isn't even the big deal, it's portaling one year rental grad transfers. To me, there's a big difference between bringing in a Parco or Buchanan for just this year and bringing in Caliendo with three years of eligibility left. The former is just a band-aid that you need to keep reapplying every year. The latter is someone you can build around for a longer time more like a recruit.
And how many people would Iowa lose if not for the money? Your point isn't a point.I called him a transfer in quotes for the very reason that he wouldn't be on the team but for MONEY. You don't get any correction points in today's class!

Iowa has money also to pay wrestlers. They are not what the kids call "poors".LOOK, the F*** st wannabees bandwagon NitWits and/or whomever else can kiss off about the portal!!! IOWA did not create it, and TnT + company are and should be using it as best as they can PERIOD!!!
There was just another post about what I believe was a high end QB(?) who is in the portal AGAIN!!! He committed to one school, de-committed, went to a 2nd school, transferred , and is now on his 3rd maybe 4th school. The funny thing is, MANY still do not get how this is BOTH BAD and WRONG!!!!
With no contract, NO RULES, nothing to stop any kid from basically leaving at will, it creates tremendous problems for most schools to build any kind of team! If you flip back to Wrestling for example and take our kid coming in at 125. Just say he decommittes, that leaves IOWA F-ed for lack of a better term!!!
Coaches can NOT plan for it, can not just "sign" another Wrestler like some comparing it to PRO sports. Most teams don't have the great Krailures slush funds to have depth to plug in another stud!!! The POS ncaa is scrambling and there will be BS rule after BS rule and MOST teams in MOST sports will suffer!!!
Right now WE ARE(that is IOWA) is on the receiving end so GOOD 4 US!!!!
It's a good point. I know of a young guy who screwed around in high school, had to go to community college at first, went two years to Moravian in Bethlehem , Pa. and did well enough to get into grad school at Lehigh. he was their outstanding grad student when he left with his PhD and got a grant to do cancer research at NYU.If I were Iowa - I would not worry about defending the use of the portal to anyone (not saying they are or they are not) but would point out the fact that after athletes have had the time to mature and make more of an adult decision about where they want to be - they choose to be at Iowa. Marketing.
