Not giving up on NCAA yet.
Neither was I until tonight. They are done unless they beat Illinois and Wisconsin and no more losses to teams they should beat. Not giving up on NCAA yet.
Oh that's right. We had our deal about Iowa making the NCAA tournament or not.Not giving up on NCAA yet.
Greg Gard is a much better coach than Fran.I guess Wisconsin parlayed NIT to a good year this year. Fran just can't coach better than winning 50 percent of his B1G games.....lack of defense always going to mean Fran teams can never make an ncaa run.
So hopes not gone then?Losing to Michigan and Maryland at home ends any NCAA hopes. They'd probably have to take 2/3 from the remaining Illinois and Wisconsin games plus probably beat Michigan State and Indiana on the road to have any chance.
I don’t think I agreed to anything, did I?Oh that's right. We had our deal about Iowa making the NCAA tournament or not.
Poor bastard, you're gonna have to either stop posting or only make posts in concert with all the other pessimists of Iowa athletics from March until the start of football.
That's gonna suck for you.
This team probably goes 0-5 against Illinois, Wisconsin, MSU, and Indiana when they probably need to go 4-1 to get back into it. That's not counting games where losing is not an option against Minnesota, Penn State, Michigan, and Maryland coming up.So hopes not gone then?
Right, and that doesn't seem likely. Still zero quad 1 wins. NIT is a maybe, I guess, but I've written off any shot at an NCAA invite unless this team unexpectedly goes on a real tear.Losing to Michigan and Maryland at home ends any NCAA hopes. They'd probably have to take 2/3 from the remaining Illinois and Wisconsin games plus probably beat Michigan State and Indiana on the road to have any chance.
You didn't have a choice. You're welcome, btw.I don’t think I agreed to anything, did I?
We lost at home to Mary Land. Our net is gonna be bye bye. I had hope after the Minny win. But tonight was beyond regression. In case anyone cares, the NIT changed a bit this year. The Big Ten will award 2 auto-bids to the NIT and it is solely based on the NET rankings. The 2 highest NET ranked teams that don't make the NCAA's get the auto bid. As of today, that would clearly be Iowa and Ohio State.

Yeah we took a huge fall in KenPom from the game. All the way down to #47 from #46...We lost at home to Mary Land. Our net is gonna be bye bye. I had hope after the Minny win. But tonight was beyond regression.
Just being a wiseguy on the above post with the no one cares gif. Props to you for still being excited!Yeah we took a huge fall in KenPom from the game. All the way down to #47 from #46...
Usually those 2 metrics are fairly correlated.
Seton Hall is in the 60s and Minnesota around 95 . So no, not even close to a Quad1 win right now.I care...
I hope the Hawks can make the NIT. Better than nothing in a really down year.
Zero Quad 1 wins (Minnesota and Seton Hall have to be close? Right?)
Two horrible losses at home to Michigan and Maryland might be the nail in the coffin.
I would like our freshman to get more games.
