I thought you were upset about not having any commits, but it’s the quality.I have heard of 4 players, which is not bad. But none of them seem like guys that really move the needle… guess I’m not a coach but I would have expected maybe a big name OL/DL or WR to be connected to the program. the CB seems like a decent get if we land him. The DL from CMU isn’t awful either… just expected a little more in this first wave here.
I suppose it’s more quality. Which is subjective, the coaches opinions mattering most. Also the lack of big names being tied to the program. Mainly Barnes… you would think he would be reaching out to more/top tier players.I thought you were upset about not having any commits, but it’s the quality.
Fair.
It's disgusting. Compare the numbers of players drafted, or signed to NFL teams. I don't think it's even close. Especially on defense. Not to mention an entire decade of being absolutely pathetic. You are not wrong, but that program is a dumpster fire and still somehow pulls those types of transfers. It would be nice if the coffers at Iowa were a bit more full because this program should easily be able to outsell that shithole to the west
You kind of touched on it, but I’m much more interested in the type of guys who win games, and not press conferences.I suppose it’s more quality. I could certainly be wrong and he may be doing that, but social media doesn’t seems to be showing us as being “aggressive in the portal” like I had hoped…
Wow, haven't heard this response. While I agree Kirk and Co. are elite at developing talent, developing elite talent is a strong suit of this team as well. Look at the recent high 4* guys this team has pulled. Imagine a secondary full of Cooper Dejean types. A d-line full of Aaron Graves types. Iowa has a lot to sell to recruits, especially transfers if they want to make the league. Now maybe the attitudes are too much to grab onto, something like Arik Gilbert (former 5* TE), but hitting on 4-5* guys is much easier than hitting on 3* guys. It's disgusting. Compare the numbers of players drafted, or signed to NFL teams. I don't think it's even close. Especially on defense. Not to mention an entire decade of being absolutely pathetic.
Pete Nakos has a list of top NIL collectives out. He is as well informed as anyone on it. Ohio St is #1, Nebraska is #8. Mizzou is #10.... That surprises me. This is indicative of how well run each collective is run and shows that major money can be raised from smaller markets. The Swarm needs to step up.They still have name value and their NIL is much better than listed. Getting Holgerson on their staff was a big boy move as far as coaching. They keep throwing darts eventually they may hit the target.
Mizzou netted 12 million dollars straight to the NIL from a single donor, Nebraska volleyball netted a 5 million dollar donation from outdoor crossing. Nakos's numbers are far from correct given that Michigan alone is paying their incoming QB 17 million for his career.Pete Nakos has a list of top NIL collectives out. Maybe if one of you fvckers had WalMart money like MIZZOU, then we could complain about how in the hell we bought these 5* Dlinemen, but still ended in the Music City Bowl!!!!Pete Nakos has a list of top NIL collectives out. I agree, but Gill was a similar “meh” type get and ended up being open quite often, but we didn’t get him the ball as much as we should.Honestly becoming extremely underwhelmed with Iowa's portal, Trayvon Rudolph is coming in for a visit from NIU as a WR target. Is this the best that Iowa can get?

I did! Hey look at that, we're like brothers.Sure did. But did you ?
good point, I'd still much rather hang onto Kaleb Brown with his upside than pickup an underperforming WR from NIU. He had a massive year a few years back, but nothing that sticks out after that.I agree, but Gill was a similar “meh” type get and ended up being open quite often, but we didn’t get him the ball as much as we should.
Hoping we can get some bigger names in sometime in the next week

I have zero idea what went on behind closed doors, if this is true, then I fully agree. I am assuming this was done after the DUI and him being in Kirk's doghouse.Brown was deciding when he did and did not want to show up to practice. He needed to go.
Your point is probably the talent and not the guy, but that guy needed to go.
I watched most, if not all, of NIU's games. They were very run-first, like 60% of the time. Their QB was OK at best, he's actually in the portal as well, so I understand if you just look at the stats, it is underwhelming. But, Rudolph was their best WR and he will be the biggest loss to NIU this off-season. I'm not related to him and I'm not saying he will be a superstar, but don't just judge him on his stats. On the plus side, he did throw a TD pass this year.good point, I'd still much rather hang onto Kaleb Brown with his upside than pickup an underperforming WR from NIU. Iowa does not have a problem with slot receivers, Rudolph is 5'10, what Iowa is desperate for is a deep threat. Maybe that is Vanderzee, I don't know, but that is the missing piece right now IMO.I watched most, if not all, of NIU's games. They were very run-first, like 60% of the time. You would be the person to bitch about a receiver with roughly 150 catches and 2,000 receiving yards in his career. 😆Honestly becoming extremely underwhelmed with Iowa's portal, Trayvon Rudolph is coming in for a visit from NIU as a WR target. Is this the best that Iowa can get?

Absolutely, everyone should. Look at Tracy's little brother, Javon kid had 818 yards receiving this year alone. Oh and he has eligibility remaining. Newton out of Toledo is a grad transfer and had 949 yards receiving, but ya got me. Our offense is a juggernaut, who uses stats anyway. You would be the person to bitch about a receiver with roughly 150 catches and 2,000 receiving yards in his career. 😆

You know what, I entirely misread your comment. My dumbass read it as you pointing out that Iowa doesn't need recruits at that caliber because they develop.Did you understand that I was talking about Nebraska?

Would be nice to let Laulk develop one more year. If he’s too good not to play let him go guard for a year or something. If he commits I feel better about OL a little. If the Miami of Ohio DB commits that help with depth or potential starter. Get a WR and DL and it’s a decent haul so farOn3 feels very good about Iowa’s chances.
