anyone know how bad the injury was to the one, the last time out
Jordyn tore his ACL so no clue if he will be back before post season. He is already a 4 timer in Kentucky well on his way to becoming their first ever 6 timer. I’d say he gives it a shot. He can probably win it on one leg.

thank you sir,i hadn't heard much since happened. ours or somewhere else's i will be pulling for him. i really enjoy their style

Hope he doesn’t rush back. Not worth jeopardizing your college career for another state title

Not sure he is rushing it back. Heard he got surgery at one of the top orthopedics in the country in Florida and is well ahead of schedule for his return. If his workout regimen of the past is of any indication he will be doing everything to get back on the mat sooner than later. Even though my money is on the Illini for the twins with their coach wrestling there and them being in their RTC, but I also feel they will keep their options open. I have been sent videos of these kids matches since their youth days and been impressed. Phenomenal talent for sure.

i think their coach should weigh what is better for them with his loyalty to illinois and well how many olympic wrestlers iowa has produced.i'm not trying to be snarky, but what's good for illini might not be what's best for his wrestlers.there is a reason alot of the studs from the state of illinois go elsewhere.

Not sure I understand everything your saying. I don’t think how many Olympic wrestlers Iowa has produced has anything to do with rehabilitation of ACL surgery. I’m just warning not to be too anxious to start competing too soon

I think he’s saying that the head coach of Illinois should ask the Raney studs to go elsewhere because they don’t have as many Olympian’s as Iowa.

if you wanna know where the good weed is ask him, apparently he’s got it.

I started there and then ended up thinking he might be talking about high school coaches.

The coach doesn't decide anything.

Dude. This makes no sense.

If they go to Illinois it’s because they believe in the coaching staff. And that they probably love Greco more than FS.

Illinois shirted a ton of guys last year. This year will be a good indicator to the Raneys (and the NCAA at large) of how good a wrestler you can be with this current version of the Illini.

So. Fingers crossed they suck 😂😂😂

Illinois is not a bad program. It just doesn't have the legacy of Iowa which makes it hard to recruit in such a dismal city/town. But plenty of wrestlers have been successful there. If they could land in state talent they would be a tip tier program. That said, the tide has to turn with talent, and the Raneys would be a huge get for them.

Even if they don’t suck Iowa should not be loosing recruiting battles to Illinois I don’t care what connections they have. The fact that we are having this conversation, quite frankly, scares the ever living shit out of me.

I see getting the Raney’s as a must, mainly because there’s two of them and two is better than one. Secondly because they wrestle an aggressive style and are excellent scramblers. They will be fan favorites the second their feet hit the mat.

If I’m Tom Brands, I’m all in on these kids, and I’m phoning the Illini staff and telling them to go after their second option because we are throwing the kitchen sink at these kids. All out blitz mode attack.

It didn't bother you that messenbrink signed with Cal Baptist, Ramos signed with Purdue, Cassioppi signed with Northwestern, Saldate signed with MSU, Hamiti signed with Wisconsin....Illinois is a damn good school with a way better than average coaching staff. It's close to Kentucky too. I would be more worried about losing kids to ISU AND Northern Iowa than the Raneys to Illinois. Means more to the program overall.

If we win the lottery and get Blaze or Forrest, we probably only need the smaller of the two twins. If they sign and one can break the line up, do you lose both? That’s the problem with twins. In reality though, we need both for future 133 and 141 because the odds of us getting Blaze are about like me winning the power ball. The odds to get Forrest are only slightly better if we land Bo first. There is a high chance Taylor lands Forrest, then Bo follows him there.

So Iowa has to win the lottery to get Blaze or Forrest.

But there is a high chance Taylor lands Forrest followed by Blaze.

Got it.

yuck it up boys. i was trying to say illinois high school wrestling produces a bunch of good wrestlers and most avoid the university of illinois.there is a reason for that.

1986 the wacky helps with the chemo. spooner i know you didn't wrestle, but a good coaches words carry a lot of weight, it's clear you never had a strong male influence. V it is trueghjk poeta has them improving, but would you bet any serious $$ that they will be anywhere close to a trophy in the next 5 years

Losing the Raneys to Illinois would be a huge disappointment. No way to really sugarcoat it.

If you are truly in a chemo treatment process I wish you the best of health and healing and I don't care about the wrestling content in this post but I truly hope things go well for you. I lost my brother after a long hard battle with lung cancer and the chemo and radiation did a number on him. I don't know you sir but we share a bond in wrestling and I wish you the best in the future.

Illinois should never get lightweight recruits Iowa really wants. I can respect them going to a number of different schools but Illinois is a dog water program.
Thought Illinois was building a decent new wrestling facility??? Did those plans get scrapped like at ISU ??

I love you, man. Hopeful your treatments are effective and you're here to post weird things for many years to come.

I kinda hope so. I REALLY like Poeta as a person. I think he lets Medlin do a little too much Greco, but he really does love the kids and wants the best for them.

Prayers your way 12!

6 pages and off topic arguements and no good news. checks out for Iowa wrestling recruiting. look forward to the same 2026 and beyond threads.
