Putting el dub and 98lber on "ignore"

Honestly, I would be interested to know as well. It truly did surprise me that secondary education was considered anything other than after high school. I always figured grade school was primary and encompassed “grades” 1-12 with Kindergarten becoming a stable part of that in the 90’s as it was more like pre-school in the early 80’s.

On top of that, you had elementary(k-5 or 6, depending on school district), middle or junior high(6 or 7-8 or 9 depending on school district) and high school(9 or 10-12, depending on school district). All were required and “primary” or “required” education, unless you turned 18 prior to completion and then chose to remove yourself.

Maybe, I am too focused on “primary” to accept the “secondary” term. Does the “secondary” term represent levels instead of requirements? If so, it would make more sense to me and explain why I am not looking at it the right way?
It does not matter what you say, vodka is going to disagree and argue with you.

That sounds delicious!

Not to pull you into the cesspit with us, but intolerance should be expected and demanded for any politician or voter who supports the overthrow of democracy. It's not a disagreement on tax rates. It's a disagreement on our civil rights and liberties to be represented by an elected servant rather than a dictator. There can be no tolerance for fascism. A lesson learned in WW2.
Right? This isn’t about political tolerance but he was doing so good up to that point.

Nobody here should be tolerant of attempts to overthrow a government through seditious acts. Period. Nobody in this country is above the law. This is about saving our democracy.

Trump lost that election by more than seven million votes. Nobody in the other side of the isle promoted an insurrection when the DRM candidate got over three million votes in 2016 and still lost in system relying on electoral college to decide the winner.

Come on guys! I am not defending Trump or what he did. I sincerely wish he would just shut up and go ride off into the sunset. He is doing nothing good for the country at this point. I am also not blind to the fact there is plenty of politics being played in his prosecution. He lost move on. (No throwing headgear and acting like a fool.) Stumbling, bumbling, mumbling, pocket-lining, traitor Joe won, move on. Bernie has been caught moving campaign funds to his wife's non-profit. Power corrupts. It is the one Universal take away from all this. I don't believe most people run for office with the idea to be bought and sold by lobbyists and special interests. Within a matter of weeks most have been put under the power of some group that are yanking the chains like a puppeteer plays with fish line. So while this crap can be debated and you all can continue to tear each other up a pack of starving hyenas, I am going back to posting about BBQ.

Twisted bacon candy
Thin sliced quality bacon
lightly sprinkle with smoke house maple rub. Very lightly
twist from each end and lay out on a rack.
smoke at 275 until starting to render
brush with light amber maple syrup
turn the temperature up to 300-325 and keep turning and bushing until done. Let cool and try not to lose an arm to the teenagers acting like starving hyenas.

There it is lol..... couldn't help but expose yourself. You were doing great sticking to BBQ but then immediately went "the DOJ is politicized" route. For holding a wannabe dictator accountable for his crimes.

It would be politicized to not charge him for the crimes that he's committed.

It's astounding how many people will crawl out of the woodwork and regurgitate the MAGA cult sermon.

I'm being serious about this. All he did was give his opinion and recipe. Why attack his comment and then call names?

Why are you so angry all the time? Seriously you need help. I'm not joking about that. Try taking a big deep breath and respect someone else's opinion. There are 150,000+ voters and they all have differing opinions. Attacking someone else for their opinions is narcissistic in nature. I'm serious Vodka seek help.

Claiming that Trump is being charged because the prosecution is politicized rather than he's being charged because he's apparently committed a shitload of crimes isn't an opinion. It's delusion in regards to the facts.

I'm not angry. Me calling out bullshit isn't anger. I have a very lower tolerance for bullshit and people who live in alternate reality and I call it as it is. If facts offend you, seek help.

You, @MSU158, and others keep claiming I'm not open to differences of opinion. That's not the case. If you disagree with me on tax rates, health care, normal policy issues, I fully respect your opinions even if I'd disagree. What I don't accept is a rejection of objective facts. Quit conflating facts with the word opinion.

I also don't tolerate fascism in America and support for a man who attempted to overturn a democratic election and install himself as dictator. I'll continue to call out and insult anyone who gives sympathy and support to dictators and wannabe dictators. It's a low bar to avoid being insulted or condemned. Just quit defending fascism and you won't be called out. Not hard.

I grew up with a smoker.

That sounds like an interesting recipe. However, I’ve been looking for jerky without sugar being a main ingredient. We would use a brine back in the day that was a cup of sugar and salt per gallon of water. I don’t remember the final product bring as sweet as the jerky we find in stores now. Once in awhile I find a pork jerky that’s on point flavor wise but it’s not always on the shelf.

There are a couple of local markets making their own jerky here in Eugene. Imma go around and sample their wares to see if any old school jerky is on the shelves. I really like smoked chicken as well.

Any jerky recommendations would be appreciated.

I haven't played with jerky much. At least since my teenage years. (Pun intended)
I agree most the jerky is mostly sugar and way too sweet. I prefer more a dried meat with some salt and pepper.

I am also not great with chicken. Seems my chicken always seems to dry out on the smoker. I do like to smoke turkey. Typically start with a 10-12 lb bird that is cold from the refrigerator. I take equal parts butter, bourbon (Sorry no Vodka that would be fascist.) and maple syrup. Bring it to a boil to make sure the butter is melted and all is as mixed as possible. Grab a needle and syringe. Big syringe. (Keeping it political and on/off topic borrow one from Hunter if needed as he seems to have a supply.) I inject the mixture into the bird deep into all the muscle I can. Legs, thigh, breast, and so forth. If the meat is cold the butter turns solid pretty quickly and seals up the holes. I then rub the skin with kosher salt and sit uncovered in the fridge overnight. Smoke at 275-300 until the internal is 155-160. Pull and place wrapped in a cooler for 30-45 minutes until ready to carve. The bird will continue to cook and hit 165+170 on the internal during the rest. I prefer a mild wood with bird like alder.

Okay, but what is fascism? I ask that honestly. Because the definition has changed quite a bit in the 10 years.

Sorry but most of what you said is just projection. I personally think you take hating Trump a little too personal. But I do understand I felt that way with Bush and Clinton. That's as close as we've come to a Monarchy as anytime. For 28 years we had a Clinton or Bush on almost every ticket. But getting angry only projects anger back. You want facts, news articles aren't facts. Social media aren't facts. Politicians definitely aren't facts. So in political conversations they are opinions. Especially in this day and age when censorship is all over the place.

Right on.

Chicken brined for 24 hours and smoked for 6-8 hours at 225-250* works for me. I’m big on brining Turkey for up to 48 hours and rinsing before hitting the smoker. I’ll use a simple brining solution and add onion and garlic for most birds. Applewood is my favorite wood for most smoking projects.

Thinking that this is proof that college graduates are less intelligent than non college graduates is hilariously dumb and shows an extreme lack of critical thinking skills.
College education doesn't mean what it use to mean. Colleges specialize as indoctrination camps these days. Most college students/grads are dumber than dirt. I can provide 50 youtube videos from 50 different areas asking college students the most simplest of questions and their lack of education comes shinning through. Critical thinking is not what they do or are taught.

A MAGA cultist talking about others being indoctrinated is certainly ironic.

@MSU158 didn't even understand the definition of post secondary. 😬
Primary education was ALWAYS k-12 to me.
If one believes HS is not secondary education when posting, because one doesn't subscribe to common definitions, then one shouldn't be held accountable for being incorrect.

This is somewhat analogous to believing an election was stolen and trying to illegally overturn its results, because one subscribes to advice of their crackpot lawyers.

All in all, pretty consistent.

Yet again, an assumption based on your feelings instead of any semblance of reading comprehension.

All in all, pretty consistent.

Again, you thinking these types of YouTube videos are in any way proof or evidence that college educated adults are less intelligent as a whole than non college educated adults shows a lack of critical thought.
If you had any ability to think critically, you wouldn't make such a massive blunder as this. I NEVER said anything about "less intelligent". What I am saying is that a college education isn't an education like it use to be. It has become more social engineering than education these days unless you are into an actual career field of study such as medical or engineering for examples. Yes, the videos are a cross example of how stupid college kids are today. Scientific - no. Practical application in the real world - yes.

These videos are similar to the late night TV clips where they interview people walking down Hollywood and people fail to answer super simple questions. It's edited to get clicks. They aren't showing you the people who answer correctly.

And people have always been dumb. I guarantee if YouTube and these types of videos were around 50 years ago, there'd be videos just like this exposing peoples' laughable stupidity at the time.

There is some research that IQ scores are decreasing, so you're onto something there, but in the u.s. at least, I think the issue starts at primary school and secondary school education. We're now in the "burn the books" phase of real life Idiocracy. There's your indoctrination and lack of critical thinking skills being taught.

The point is that despite your very predictable attack on post secondary education because that's what Fox news tells you and because post secondary educated people are more likely to oppose your political tribe, college educated adults are certainly more intelligent as a whole than non college educated adults. Not in every case individually, but as a whole - certainly.

Does ignorance come naturally or did you have to work real hard to get there? I am not a MAGA guy. Try DeSantis or Cruz.

Also, this is literally the first time I've ever heard of anyone admitting to liking Cruz. I've always wondered how that piece of shit gets elected. I guess it's due to crazies like yourself.

"I'll continue to call out and insult anyone who gives sympathy and support to dictators and wannabe dictators. It's a low bar to avoid being insulted or condemned. Just quit defending fascism and you won't be called out. Not hard."

Ted Cruz went on Tucker Carlson's show and completely capitulated to Tucker who was ridiculing Cruz for originally calling Jan. 6 anything other than a peaceful tour. He voted against certifying the election results. He voted for Mike Johnson who was an architect behind contesting the election.

No one takes anyone crying about insults seriously when those same people worship Trump.

A. Your "critical thinking" is still malfunctioning. I rarely watch Fox News. Apparently, you do. That is how you can definitively state that Fox News makes that claim.
B. Statistics clearly demonstrate that US education on all levels is diminishing.
C. I NEVER claimed that college educated folks are, as a whole, less intelligent than non college folks. Stop perpetrating that lie.

Well then, either you have a very short memory or else you had your head planted in the NY Times. Cruz gave Trump the best run for the nomination to be president the first go round. That meant that lots and lots of people liked him. Do some reading other than NYT. It is essential to being a critical thinker.

No comment on the fact that Cruz is a dictator/fascism sympathizer?

Why'd that get skipped over in your response?

It's a fact.

He supports the current house speaker who was one of the architects at the attempt to overturn the election results.

He voted against certifying the 2020 election results.

Whether you like it or not, the entirety of the current GQP is pro MAGA or MAGA sympathizers. The unanimous house speaker vote proved that. You're supporting a party that doesn't support the constitution or democracy.

There were lots of "questions" concerning the 2020 elections. These questions merited investigation and answers. Yes, I believe that clean elections are imperative to democracy. Delaying certification to make sure we have the correct winner is not a negative with me. You would do well in Venezuela.

These "questions" were instigated and propagated by a mad narcissist nutjob who lost the election. Trump was saying the election was going to be rigged if he lost well before election day even.

You're a sucker for believing that despite absolutely no evidence of anything close to widespread voter fraud that would change the outcome in any state.

Ironic and hypocritical for you to say I'd do well in Venezuela when it is you and your political cult that is opposed to elections and democracy.

Do you now believe after the multitude of court filings and audits that the 2020 election was not stolen? If so, are you capable of condemning Trump for still today, 3 years later claiming that it was stolen and continuing to propagate the big lie?

Trump had to own up or shut up. He hasn't produced, so, yes, I fault him. I don't like the guy. I liked lots of his policies but disliked him as a person.

Fault and condemn aren't the same. I'm asking if you condemn him for his continued attack on democracy and on elections. Do you condemn him for attempting to overturn the election?
