Do they have to take a first place or can a 2nd place get the job done?

As I understand it, anyone can qualify the weight regardless of who wrestles in the Olympics.

Yes, I know that. What I'm wondering like all the meets Ramos, Dennis, and Metcalf went to when they lost if the guy that beat them lost next match they where done. Not like today where u got to wrestle back.

Not answering your question, but I believe each country can only send one representative which makes it easier for Frank. In the past have we sent someone other than the Olympic Qualifier. I understand that it has definitely happened prior, but what about after?
