Ramos vs. Brewer at Who's #1

Just wanted to add being on the road away from your "comfort" zone happens to every athlete on the planet at some point in time, beginning in Middle School primarily. The Ryder Cup is no different. People want you to fail. If you're good enough, you overcome that and make the Home crowd go home unhappy. Happens every day in every sport on the planet.

Europe played some pretty damn good golf (haven't seen all the "total" numbers as far as birdies and such), but at the end of the day, they got outplayed, and they lost.

Those "naughty" American fans didn't make them collectively lose. Pretty simple really.

23sofar,

I agree with you. I loved it. But, I only got to see it via TV and obviously missed a ton of the behind the scenes you were able to be a part of. The fact that the US Team considered you guys the 13th man was very telling. Other than yelling in backswings and the sporadic vulgarities I thought everything was deservedly fair game.

Thanks a ton for the in-depth perspective!

I bet it was Caseyballz, who was one of the hecklers who got kicked out. I heard that guy is notorious for heckling(just ask Jim Zalesky)......;)

You're welcome. Fun discussing it to be honest (not for some reading it I'm sure!). I taped the whole tournament and watched the Sunday round again today. Even saw Son #1 and I on the broadcast on a panned out view near us from the pond on #17 when Phil and Sergio were on the green. So we got our 1 second of fame with no sound!

Did any of you see Phil's "jump" on 18? That was hilarious! I have no doubt that's the most excited Phil has ever been in his golfing career. Jumping for joy. You can't fake that shit.

That was one of the best sporting events I have ever watched. I simply couldn't get enough, and I am still in awe that Reed was able to beat Rory. So many clutch moments by both sides all weekend.

Think a lot of us were shocked after the match with Colon. Tony couldn't do anything against him. Has beat him every time since. So yea, many of us have our issues with Tony but let's not kick him when he's down...he's best with a huge chip on his shoulder which yesterday should provide.

I wouldn't kick him when he's down, I would curb stomp him. He threw the program under the bus.

Now I regret wanting him to win against Colon and DD, he's a classless tool. The dude is an idiot, and when he continues to lose after biting the hand that fed him...he gone. He will have no connections to anyone or anywhere. Good luck selling cars in Schaumburg and coaching HS wrestling, broski.

He'll fade off into Bolivian

Like I said, some of us may have a few issues with him.

Personally, I don't anymore. He made his choices and its time to press on instead of bringing this up every time he wrestles or is in the spotlight...I have been guilty of it too so this ain't judgy. I just figure that what made Tony one of our favorites, the competitive fire, also hurt him in the end and we didn't like it too much when it was aimed at us. True story...I bought a Ramos and Gable painting from an Iowa City dealer online. My wife was like, "Ramos...isn't that the guy who turned on your team?" I was like..."It's complicated." That it is. I hope Tony and his family the best...we should probably get over it.

Ramos created his situation and like everyone else he has to deal with it. I don't wish him any misfortune or anything remotely close to that, but if it's against The Hawks in any form or fashion I hope we throttle whomever he represents at the time, up to and including himself.

I think he has suffered more than anything that has happened to iowa. it did change my opinion of him tho
