Him and Forrest were going to get meal stipends and a 10% scholarship, but DT reduced it to 5% and a Ben and Jerry’s gift card because they do things the right way in Stillwater.
For some reason I was thinking this was year 3 in Stillwater for Spratley and Jamison. So they were both NIL era guys as well

I didn’t list just Dean. More than one thing can be true. He was frustrated by the Ivy stance on Covid, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t get a bag either. They’ve had a bunch of transfers, including Nagao. You said you have no idea about anything and that’s fine.
I don't hide the fact that Willie is a friend. I don't agree with him on everything he posts, but he's entitled to his opinion.
That's kind of how I read it, I figured he was pissed about Nebby losing and was being a bit salty about it, and I responded as such to his Tweet.
In general, I agree that it seems like only the Iowa numbers get out (if they're even real), but not so much the other ones. And I do think Willie is a bit inconsistent with how he applies his criticism in this area. For example I have heard from multiple people about the mighty Nittany Lions contacting a high AA from last year who was not in the portal, and it never gets discussed by anybody. And if me, a nobody, has heard it I know others have.
I think Corby's description of wrestling Twitter (hell, most social media) as a male soap opera is pretty spot on. I don't get too caught up in that. I do think Willie gets too harsh a rap on here, but also thought the Angelo Tweet was lame.
So, in summation, not a stooge, I like Willie, I disagree with him on certain stuff, I think he gets a bad rap on here (but not necessarily in this situation), and I just don't get too hot and bothered about this kind of stuff. I have fun with it and bust balls, though.

When was the last time Willie was welcomed in Iowa City to interview coaches and wrestlers of the Iowa Men's wrestling team? Was curious bc it seems to be flo, Chale Sonen, Todd Conners, local media, young podcasters, the D3 kid that met up with Spencer, ect......When was the last time Iowa mens wrestling used Rokfin for coverage of a home event?

I've wondered the same thing. Does Iowa keep their distance with Willie, which pisses him off so he rarely has anything positive to say about Iowa? Just spitballing here, but it seems possible.
I think Iowa gave Willie plenty of opportunities and he couldn't help himself and stay professional. That is why Willie does not report much on Iowa, besides the garbage and the news from the cheap seats. He has no inside track and the insider he used to have is not so much an insider anymore.

Awhile back, a year or two ago, Smalls spouted something degrading about Iowa.
Someone suggested we cancel our subscription to Smalls. I did so and can’t say I miss it.
I know him as an acquaintance and he is nice enough on the periphery. The fact that he leaves out info and money statistics on every other team except Iowa is low.
You could call it sins of omission, because a half truth is still a lie. It’s a lie when you say you aren’t privy to what PSU and Okie State pay.
Poaching is most likely happening, however, saying head coaches are doing it has never been proved nor have any penalties been levied for doing so, in the current NIL era of wrestling.
I don’t know about the biased money leaks cited here, but I know this: For NCAA wrestlers, NIL creates a unique income window that may exceed anything earned over a similar timeframe in post-collegiate careers. Often as not, I think this ‘power of gold’ will trump any school choice that considers the long shot of making an Olympic team (via associated RTC), or even the perception that an individual NC is more attainable with a specific staff and room. In short, money, and, to a lesser extent, quickest-opportunity-to-start will guide ‘next great phenom’ decisions as much as anything else, ensuring that PSU’s ongoing reign is by no means guaranteed.

It was in the ballpark of 1.5 -2 million over 5 years, or 300-400k/year. Not sure what the final numbers were but this is where the discussions were toward the end of his recruiting. And his football numbers were nowhere close, hence the decision. And obviously that number can only go up. Let's say OKST pays Melvin Miller 1 million/year, then Ross threatens portal if he's not paid more (assuming he's having collegiate success)

Explain to me how what I said makes me unfamiliar. I said that's what the figure was, didn't say what it was reduced by or what ends up where....but being that you didn't come forward with the number, "perhaps" I should say you're unfamiliar with the most important part of NIL, the amount that seals the deal.

It's a running joke because everyone falsely reports how much money Iowa spends, then said David Taylor took away all the money from his six transfers saying he doesn't have to pay anyone. They're just happy to be in his presence.
