Recruiting

I choose to be glass half full. Pointing out there’s options and kids growing seems to be a thing they do. It’s several years away. Seems it could work out if they wanted it to.
I need to get that PSU mentality I guess. Recruit over every blue chip guy you’ve landed with another blue chip if you can afford to, and see who sticks. Most guys like that won’t stick around even with a good NIL package if it looks like they won’t slot in anywhere without wasting more than one year of eligibility. Never dreamed Ryder at PSU would leave at the end of his redshirt year. If Sealy is smart, he will leave also, but that will just add to the talent at OSU, so hope sticks it out😉

I don’t think this is even a recruiting over scenario. It’s possible these guys slot in just fine. He’s two years from graduating. Bo and the Raneys both have said they see themselves bigger. 141,149,157 don’t seem out of play. Sounds perfect to me

The fact that we haven’t heard any excitement from the usual suspects on this board and how little I’ve heard regarding the Raney’s from my usual suspects leads me to believe this may not go in the favor of our beloved Hawks.

There’s usually some scuttlebutt about opinions or guesses made one way or the other. So far it has been unusually quiet.
I think it's just early on them. Not saying they end up in IC, I just don't think there's a decision or even close... yet. They're prepping for the Open right now.

Hutcherson would be perfect timing with Gabe leaving and Angelo with one year left. Sidun would over lap more with Deluca and Raneys if we get them. PSU problems I guess
Is Deluca a career 125? My guess is Sidun is a 125/133. Not sure how many years one of the Raney brothers can stay at 133?

Sidun won the Doc B tournament, Beast of the East, and Powerade. Then he broke his finger or hand and missed the state tournament. Deluca and Sidun together would be incredible. Hutcherson at 184/197. His dad is a big dude. We don't want Cael to get him. I could see Bassett possibly getting as big as 165 or am I crazy?

Bo would have to get taller to go 165. He is 18 and has one more year of high school, so we should have a pretty good idea what his highs will be when he hits campus

to be clear, i didn't 'report it'. it was just a conversation on here.
same difference. and, to be clear, it wasn't a conversation, you stated your unsolicited opinion, and considering your job i think most would assume you are basing your opinion on something. especially when you follow up by saying you speak to jax's dad.

why do you like iowa's chances? you just woke and feeling that it's iowa's lucky day?

with Nebraska being "far and away the second best program" and "no shot" and Jax, I'm almost convinced I have more reliable info.

btw, he is right on the raneys, and I'll add that mocco is a heavy iowa lean. and I didn't just wake up thinking iowa's gonna get lucky.

there's a world of difference between 'reporting' and talking wrestling among fans.

yes. it was my opinion at the time that you wouldn't get him. and you didn't. jax wasn't high on iowa, but he took his visit. liked it more than he thought he would. still didn't go there.

just tea leaves, rumblings.

Hey, listen, I'm playing with you and clearly struck a nerve. Sure, Jax didn't go to Iowa (wow, you earned a low hanging point) but your recent "no shot" comment and "Nebraska is far and away the second-best program" comment served as its own douche alert. But, when want to be respected as a reliable source of information and then come on to a forum that gets thousands of views, your opinions and tea leaf statements hurt your credibility. I'm not in a group of one with this thinking. And your "douche" comments make you look silly because you are a voice of the sport and call it a job. I'm just an anonymous poster with some reliable, inside information. On a lot of things, you're all over the place and you let your fandom shape your comments, er opinions, er reporting. At least I'm clear that I'm an Iowa fan first and foremost and people expect to read some bias into my comments. You can swallow this medicine or not, I honestly don't care, but maybe now you can understand your reputation with a huge fan base. I said I was teasing with you, and I do think you offer some good info but sometimes I'm not sure if that comes from information you have from reliable, nurtured relationships or because you throw a lot of crap against the wall and sometimes it sticks. I will say, I'm not calling you a Mineo, take that as a consolation. But with the Raneys and Mocco, it's more than tea leaves from me.

And click-bait is not a part of my job. Doesn't Nebraska have a forum?

Again, there's not that much of a difference when you talk wrestling and report. When you report, that is talking wrestling. Now if you always reported and said something like, wow, I was hearing Bo would go to PSU and it's officially Iowa....then maybe people would be able to differentiate when you have or don't have insider information. When you report on developing stories, and not just results, it's really blurry...especially when you are talking wrestling with a group of fans of team of which you're not. Oh, but you love Morningstar, how endearing!

What he said. Playing both sides of the equation, Smart for the wallet, not so good for establishing credibility.

lol. playing both sides of what?

i didn't think Bo was going to pick iowa. he did. i didn't think jax was going to pick iowa. he didn't.

in neither case did i 'report' either. was just talking shop on here.

not every utterance is a 'report' .

and miss me with that 'credibility' nonsense. there's no one, zero, zip, more credible. certainly no one that produce the amount of info and intel i do.

i love that your shots at my credibility hinge on me saying a kid wasn't going to pick iowa and then didn't pick iowa and message board musings.

douche alert. yes, it does affect your credibility. It wasn't a conversation. You are not an Iowa fan, came on the forum and posted on a recruiting thread that you like Iowa's chances above any other school. The fact that you talk to coaches, recruits, and parents and make that statement to a group of fans suggests that you are basing it on something. If not, then how can you say noone is more credible. Another outlandish, probably drunk, statement. So should we gather nothing you say on here is reliable, or reporting, and all just "shooting the crap?" Like someone above said, playing both sides. And like i said earlier, throw enough against the wall, something might stick.

and, you're above this. mineo is not.

and nobody produces more credible info? but only mineo produces more crap. no one else would ever claim Nebraska is the second-best program and it's not even close. It doesn't take a genius to say they were the second-best TEAM this year, after all, we all saw that they placed SECOND at nationals.

Yeah, what he said. Both $ide$.

Heard Bradley Hill won't be going back to Norman I bet this was a factor. Imagine part of Jake decision was he would be with Hill
Maybe Hill is coming home. He could have really improved in the Iowa room rather than stepping back. Don't know if there is problems down there in Norman with upper weights, but they sure developed Buchannan well. Anyway, would be great if Hill returned and manned heavy til Keuter is ready.

Not a chance. Especially not when Kueter doesn't think he will miss any meets.

The cut to 197 was noble but also a mistake. He’s a solid HWT.
