The mission of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is to enhance the health and well-being of all Americans, by providing for effective health and human services and by fostering sound, sustained advances in the sciences underlying medicine, public health, and social services.
Considering he is responsible for the overall health of all individuals, if funding were to effect his mission, seems to be a very relevant question wouldn't you say? He sad Trump has been tasked with making it better, but has no plan how to do it.

We shouldn't have to move to Medicare Advantage as the satisfaction is radically different by how one approaches health and cost. It's also radically different by location, even within the same state. The penalty for not signing up at 65 should be removed.

Also, a lot of latitude is given to the agencies in how things are administered.

Yes. CMS and HHS still have broad discretion in many areas. CMS in particular approves/disapproves Medicaid waivers submitted by the states.

My point being that maybe the reason why Bobby didn't answer the question to bunsen's liking is because he's not the one that makes that decision. As RFK stated, it's Congress that makes cuts to medicaid.
I should also add that it probably doesn't take a whole lot of (extra) money to properly look at and make transparent an existing database, just for starters.
He said he was going to improve Medicaid, that would be lie if they are going to cut Medicaid. That is what he kept say over and over, Trump wants him to improve medicaid and the premiums are too high
. He was greatly confusing Medicare, Insurance and medicaid. Medicaid patients do not pay a premium. Beyond being greatly misinformed and uneducated on the topic, he either out right lied if he knows Trump plans to cut Medicaid funding through congress, or he has no idea how to do the job. The real topic kept coming back to the expanded Medicaid, and how many individuals would lose coverage if it was cut by the federal government. He even acknowledged several would lose coverage if this would occur, and the implications of this.I was disappointed in some of his responses. I was also disappointed in the quality of a lot of the questions. There was a lot of disinformation on that side as well.
I did think he was not being honest about his comment about USDA policy as I expect he will attempt to influence the role of big farma in farm policy.

Yes, they approve the funds. However, they don’t dictate how funds are ultimately spent. For example, work requirements aren’t the law of the land, but HHS could say in order to receive your share of the pie, you must include work requirements.
