Just beat Gilman and that Chinese wrestler is a U23 world bronze and 2022 senior world 5th. I agree though, that wrestling wouldn't be enough for an Olympic medal.

It was close too almost exactly what Zou did to him in the 1st period. SL had some pretty gutsy per terre (sp.)defense
Aman Aman is the best guy in the bracket luckily he is on the bottom side. He teched Zou at the ranking series in January.
Spencer was a slight mat position shift from teching that guy on his lace. But yeah his defense was mia there big time

It's been a very long time since Spencer has faced legit international competition, I don't consider his pan am matches to be this level. He has some adjusting to do to get comfortable, will need to clean up the defense for sure, can't make a habit giving up 6 early like that.
If Spencer has any head/hands in the 2nd it’s 10-6 final. Kind of a head scratcher but it looked like he wasn’t using his extra strength gear at all. Looking forward to his next go. Good work SL!!

The wrestler from China won a world bronze and was the #1 seed for a reason. They seeded the top four and everyone else was dropped in the bracket. I believe Aman would be in trouble against Spencer due to the match up. I hope we get to see that match in the future. China is a quick and powerful wrestler, but as we saw susceptible in par terre. If Lee is in the middle or not out of bounds that lace is a tech. It is his susceptibility on bottom that has contributed to his mixed results. He has good wins and odd losses. I also think Spencer was not at his best. Warm up, long wait for the Amine match, but he was not as sharp. Sometimes you just have to find a way to advance. I thought falling behind 6-0 and climbing back to score 11 points against the top seed was good. Next match, fresh start and let's go.

How did Zou get the 1 over Aman? Doesn't Aman have the more recent head to head result over Zou?
Seeds are just done off of ranking points. Not h2h or anything else

Not the best match for Spencer, but a bad matchup for him also with the Zhou. Spencer needs to turn it up a notch which he will.
They are on match 379 currently on Mat A. Zain is up at #382. Spencer is #386. 7 matches to wrestle before Spencer.
