Whatever countries are fighting is irrelevant to athletes competing in the Olympics.
Apparently so. Other wrestlers from Russia are allowed to participate so apparently war or invasion isn’t the issue.
I believe the issue is they support the Russian government. Zero to do with wrestling. I could care less about Ukraine and Russia

But the IOC is under a lot more political pressure than UWW (obviously). So it’s far less likely they’ll get approved.

My personal inexperience notwithstanding, one has gotta grease the palms else stay home. It's an IOC tradition unlike any other. These days the ruble doesn’t seem to go as far as it used to.

personally i think it’s stupid to ban athletes for supporting their own government. if what that government is doing is so bad, ban the whole team.
