If the athletes don’t have to take the season seriously, why should the fans?
Heck, why not just do away with the season “grind” and have a giant NCAA tourney where everyone shows up healthy?

Serious question so we can move on, how do you two fellas see the season going. If you guys can write a legit answer then I will respond. At the end of the season we can see who was correct or most accurate.

I see Iowa dominating this year from start to finish and winning another shiny team trophy with two or three champs.
I like everything you said, but if the Hawks only get 2 champs I’ll feel sh*tty like I did after day 3 last season. KemDog, The Bull, Eirman and Lee allstanding on top of the podium with 6 other AAs would top off an amazing season. If only two of them get there, that means either something terrible happened to Spence, or one of Eirman, the Bull or Kemdog never get to be National Champ. Being that close and never getting it will stay with these guys a long time. I used to train with Zaputil, and years later it still affected him. Will be pulling hard for our guys.
Well, I said two or three because I’m not sure if Spencer will be the fourth or if pressure will get to him. Some of the fellas here have been making it sound like there might be issues serious enough to warrant keeping him off the mat…
If we were talking about any other guy in the roster being held out due to coming off his 3rd ACL tear, wrestling with none, would we have the same view of “he better be wrestling?”
Selfishly, I wanna see him on the mat at every opportunity. His eligibility has gone by far too quickly for me.
The guy who won a national title with almost no mobility without any matches being even remotely close says he is feeling good now and is ready to go. That's good enough for me.

Spencer Lee is NOT ducking anyone PERIOD!!! It is not like he is "a little nicked up" or something. He has had some serious injuries and he has moved forward with them without EXCUSES -because they are for wussies!!!!

No inside info but he didn’t wrestle at wrestle offs or Luther. He may be fine, but I’m guessing that’s where the speculation he’s not wrestling Friday comes from.

Shucks. I was hoping to see Spencer. Unfortunately, if you’ve got him listed as a go, I’m guessing it ain’t happening. Lol

If he does go, then we will know Friday where he is at. Glory is tough as nails.

No doubt Glory is good, Spencer is ready and on an entirely different level. Glory is dirty SL needs to finish quick and strong, and stay out of scramble positions.
I think that's why he has to go. Look at last year when he was barely able to move at nationals. Still wrecked everyone. There aren't a lot of guys who can challenge him, even with a serious injury. If he can't at least major a guy like Glory (he's good, but not in the same league as Spencer) then he'll have to make adjustments. Better to know that early.
Are they all from HS's outside of Iowa.? Not criticizing, just think it is of interest

Much different level of competition this year, but I'm with you. If he's 80-90 percent I don't see him losing.
