Doc has sources. He’s not wrong often.how so?
and all of this is rumors; Brad does not disclose the terms of these big deals
I know Dochtermann is reporting he got paid $100,000 but Brad would have had to tell him that and, again, Brad does not disclose this type of info
Yep. The Swarm will have trouble keeping donors knowing this will continue to happen. Count me among those. No reason to give money to a " collective" when it's essentially a contribution to a bidding war that Iowa will seldom win.So how will Swarm get money now? If this is even possible what would be the point?
Just DM Moral for his phone # and get it over with.quit being funny!
I would think donors would be interested in knowing before shelling out more.how so?

Brad better come out and respond because Swarm has a massive black eye right now and it will get worse until he says what the terms were.we aren't because, again, the terms of the deal would be between Brad and Proctor

No, just ****ing no.If indeed true, it might be that he sees there will be no basic change in the offense under KF. Seems Proctor got interested in returning to Iowa when Brian was out the door and KF was "looking" for a new OC. Lester has been here long enough for news to be leaking out or showing up thru coach/athlete channels that the Captain stills rules the offense and isn't going to throw Brian under the bus or the baby out w/ the bath water. Idk, but truly interesting.
Lucy and the damn football.... fool me twiceit's incredible that he's committed (with great fanfare) to Iowa twice now and then at the last moment switched to Alabama both times
Money never “equalizes” anything……What equalizes everyone is the LACK of money….JMO
That is why any equity in collegiate sports is/will be gone. Big money schools (probably less than 5% of schools) buy the best and all of the rest of schools will be have-nots and not able to compete with money schools.
I would like to see schools that do not or cannot compete in this money-grab should break away and form an actual collegiate sports program with structure closer to the old model. Would still need to figure how to financially supplement players, restricted portal framework, media rights, etc.
Otherwise, collegiate sports will lose their fanbase and the money will eventually dry up because collegiate sports will no longer have the national interest.
Like I said, just my thoughts today.
I wish he had waited til after the hires to commit and I really don't know why he did this but when you address one of your most glaring deficiencies with a joke hire like Jon Budmayr it is hard to be that surprised when stuff like this this happenYou’re blaming Ferentz for this? If so you might want to check your own character.
Speaking of...wonder if this will get Saban back to Bama (sarcasm intended)Sorry…. College football and its non-sensual transfer rules, has allowed itself to become a huge joke. Giving a teenager all the money they can get with no consequences for their actions makes no sense at all. If an adult acted this way they would be severely chastized. This is a real gut- punch. Anyone wonder why Saban walked away? We have given the inmates the keys! (and think it was a good idea to do so!)
He got an apartment I know. They gave him a Jeep when he first committed but he returned it when he first left for Alabama.maybe Proctor bragged to people and the word spread. who knows but it didn't come from Brad
and hopefully Proctor didn't get a lot of money up front
All this is why I have been steadfastly against this from happening for over a decade. Paying college players is BS. It’s actually even worse than I thought it would be. Money and greed ruin a lot in this country. It’s devastated my favorite sport. This is what is truly wrong with college football now, it is a swamp, a money grubbing swamp and not the players are out of control
I would think donors would be interested in knowing before shelling out more.
Dochtermann wouldn't put it out there if it wasn't true and he sourced it.how so?

Not saying anything will blow Iowa’s NIL to hell.
So just formalizing it now. Instead of back alleyRemember Hunter Dickinson? He wasn't happy with what he was getting paid at Michigan and entered the transfer portal. He chose Kansas over Kentucky because Kansas offered a better guaranteed deal.
Kentucky now plans to be the top NIL destination in College Basketball.
This vacation paid for by Swarm.
Yep…eff those guys. Those of you that wanted players paid all these years…lol…
Did he ever lift a weight?Certainly one of the most creative strategies I've seen to get out of Spring camp...AND profit from it.
He got an apartment I know. They gave him a Jeep when he first committed but he returned it when he first left for Alabama.
He got something out of the school for sure.
This is why contracts need to be in place. If schools can’t control athletes jumping ship, there at least needs to be financial consequences that he needs to pay back. He at least needs to pay for this semester of school. Not sure how you go a half of a semester and say you already want out. This is a HUGE slap in the face to KF, Barnett, and the entire program.Hopefully Iowa didn't pay him yet
It makes not liking a kid a lot easier.this is crazy, isn't it?
it makes not rooting for college teams a lot easier, not gonna lie....
He was like you actually want me to go to class?????This is why contracts need to be in place. Call me petty or whatever I don’t care. Hope karma bites him in the butt and he pulls an aaron Rodgers first game and out for the season. It makes not liking a kid a lot easier.
Dochtermann wouldn't put it out there if it wasn't true and he sourced it.
He was naive.Yep. Was a joke from the start.
I remember Jon Miller loving this but he actually thought it was going to be for autographs and jersey sales. That never was going to be the case
I know Keith Murphy stated it.link to where he's reporting Proctor was paid $100,000 up front?
