Rumorville

College football as we know it is dead. When the Big10 and SEC blue bloods form a super football conference that will become the NFL minor league with their own commissioner and the non-blue bloods i.e. Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Missouri, Indiana, Purdue and ahem Iowa etc, are removed from said super conference. Predicted this two years ago and thought it would take 5-10 years but now its speeding up at the speed of light. I don't know the exact parameters but it will not be the same game we all love.

Sorry, but not a trustworthy person. Wonder what both team's teammates think of him. There has to be some contract stipulations that he has to pay the $$$ back if he does not fulfill his part.

All this is why I have been steadfastly against this from happening for over a decade. Paying college players is BS. It’s actually even worse than I thought it would be. Money and greed ruin a lot in this country. It’s devastated my favorite sport.
Yeah, it should have been just a stipend model where every football player gets $20000 a year, every bball player gets $15000 etc etc based on revenue per sport.

It is the wild wild west out there now and everyone is packing!!!

To do this not once but twice shows this dudes character. He should never show his face in Iowa. He should be embarrassed. That kid and family have no idea what commitment means. Twice! 😲
Wouldn't be surprised if the guy gets his ass beat before he can get out of town

Proctor is a scum human being if he doesn’t return the $. No different then people who scam others with pyramid schemes. He did nothing to earn it and I know a couple of hard working middle class people who donate to the swarm. If I was them I’d be having 2nd thoughts because of crap like this happening to my donations. Cause some young entitled adult (proctor isn’t a kid so no excuse) could rip of the collective i’m donating to.

Also Procter just laid out the blue print to the top tier portal entires how they can milk the system if they choose to.

those middle class individuals' donations to SWARM get used to pay the Iowa student athletes who volunteer; their money did NOT go to Proctor

IF Proctor has ripped anyone off it would be from the SWARM INC arm, which is funded by Brad Heinrichs, the Bill Moon family (I-80 Truck Stop), Summit Ag Group, Mid-States Millright & Builders, Dale Howard Auto Ctr, etc.

If indeed true, it might be that he sees there will be no basic change in the offense under KF. Seems Proctor got interested in returning to Iowa when Brian was out the door and KF was "looking" for a new OC. Lester has been here long enough for news to be leaking out or showing up thru coach/athlete channels that the Captain stills rules the offense and isn't going to throw Brian under the bus or the baby out w/ the bath water. Idk, but truly interesting.
Totally agree with this assessment. Iowa fields an FCS level talent across the board on offense, especially the Oline l, because KF is still the puppeteer behind the curtain pulling the strings.

I'm so ****ing tired of Iowa Football being the laughingstock of CFB. So ****ing tired of it. This only adds fuel to the fire.

He really would have made a difference on the OLine. He could have helped us turn around the offense. Just so tired of all of this garbage.
The joke is on anyone who's laughing.

In case you missed it, Iowa is coming off one of its most successful football seasons ever

how so?

and all of this is rumors; Brad does not disclose the terms of these big deals

I know Dochtermann is reporting he got paid $100,000 but Brad would have had to tell him that and, again, Brad does not disclose this type of info
Brad isn’t the only one there….squeaky wheels

That is why any equity in collegiate sports is/will be gone. Big money schools (probably less than 5% of schools) buy the best and all of the rest of schools will be have-nots and not able to compete with money schools.

I would like to see schools that do not or cannot compete in this money-grab should break away and form an actual collegiate sports program with structure closer to the old model. Would still need to figure how to financially supplement players, restricted portal framework, media rights, etc.

Otherwise, collegiate sports will lose their fanbase and the money will eventually dry up because collegiate sports will no longer have the national interest.

Like I said, just my thoughts today.
I've always had a strange feeling that one day sports would not be the huge thing that it is these days. We may be witnessing the beginning of that

Just can't give him the benefit of the doubt here. He finessed the shit out of the Hawks all to just go back to Bama.

Well this could confirm tampering as he isn’t in the portal and already confirmed his return not a great look

This is why contracts need to be in place. If schools can’t control athletes jumping ship, there at least needs to be financial consequences that he needs to pay back. He at least needs to pay for this semester of school. Not sure how you go a half of a semester and say you already want out. This is a HUGE slap in the face to KF, Barnett, and the entire program.

Brad's a smart, wealthy guy. Hopefully there was not a lot paid up front and the NIL deal with Proctor was clear on what had to happen in order for Proctor to be paid

Agree. But unless he makes some sort of statement then I will assume 100k was spent. Hopefully not.

Nothing should be paid up front if a person can just shop himself around, each semester. and make six figures. AD’s in the power 5 need to come together and start fighting fire with fire.

Oh his Bama teammates will welcome him back easily. I doubt Kadyn is gunna allow Iowa fans upset at him matter at all. And he is under no obligation to give back any of that SWARM money.

The kids deserve to get their money. Blame the NCAA and rich AF schools not formulating a system that pays players respectfully when it was brought up in 2013. Kicking the can now lead to the Supreme Court making the calls. Now NCAA does anything they'll get sued out of existence.

And Texas A&M and Kansas and numerous will suddenly all follow the rules, right?

Gotcha. Well he’s still a pile of crap if he didn’t give back and basically legally stole the $. Guy has no morals if he took it and ran which is why he fits in perfect with the SEC.

He basically treated us like a hotel. He got the hell out of dodge after Saban retired because he had no idea what was going to happen, but he needed a place to stay in the meantime. Then they started to rebuild and he saw his chance to jump back on. I'd wager that he knew that he could pull this even before he left Bama. He never planned to play with us.

It's really sad but I inch closer and closer to following the Detroit Lions more than Iowa.

It's not Proctor specifically, just what this semi-pro league has become.

Proctor goes to Bama, we bad mouth him. He comes back and Bama fans say hes trash. Now, he leaves again, back to the same team. It's a mess and makes me long for the days of a computer picking the 2 top teams.
