I gave them a shot tonight with an open mind. F’n embarrassing team. This is the best 13 guys we can find out of the 20,000 high school basketball players to graduate over the past 4 years??? 3-4 may be Big Ten caliber but the rest are second teamers on a church league team. Pathetic!
I’m not happy about a game like this either but if this was the game you were “giving us a shot” at then you picked the wrong game. We had a very small margin for even having a possibility at wining this. I could see being more upset if Iowa state or Michigan do this to us this week.

Not all dog $hit is the same. There's the little stringy turds and then there's the bologna ones. Alot can go on in the making of a turd. First of all there's food, exercise, home environment, water quality and attitude.
Watching Iowa b-ball over the years has been like wiping your ass with 60 grit sandpaper: sloppy, ineffective and painful.
Wrong, Iowa basketball has been the same dogshit every year. Same recipe of having a big chunk of the roster that is mid-level MAC talent. Some good players but never a supporting cast and generally a lack of athletes that can create off the dribble and have enough quickness on defense.

We are what we are under Fran. He has coached for like what?, 30 years total and has 0 Sweet 16s? If you expect the season to end in anything more than Iowa basketball being mediocre while Fran is the coach, you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

Tough game to watch. Was not nearly as close as even the score shows. I feel like the guys who have to keep playing more to give us higher ceilings are Freeman (duh), Dix, Dembele and Harding. Krikke is a very unique player and we are lucky to have him this year.
Pretty obvious with this comment that you don’t even watch college basketball. Penn St/Minnesota are easily the two worst teams in the B1G. I’d still put Iowa right about mid pack, along with NW,
Michigan, Nebraska, and Rutgers.
This isn’t a great team but still far from one of Fran’s worst. Unfortunately some of Iowa’s best players are also their youngest. It’s going to take time.

Do you mean the Elite 8? Iowa made the Sweet 16 in 1999, but I get what you’re saying. A lot of futility in March.
