Scottie Scheffler thrown in cuffs on his way to PGA Round 2

Just read where the officer is now hospitalized with injuries from the incident. What complete BS. These police piling on the charges, fabricated the police report (it's out on the web now), and have now tripled down with this BS. The LPD trying to CYA.

If someone at the Mayor's or Governor's office doesn't step in soon and tell these fools to drop all charges and issue a public apology by noon today then I hope Scottie sues the LPD for millions in damages.

I got ahold of the notes form his chart in the hospital:

“Officer Gillis had a booboo on his hand and an ouchie on his knee. Upon inspection, Dr. Walter’s determined that a kiss would make it all better and performed the kissing procedure. Officer Gillis responded well to treatment and reported feeling “much better” after receiving a fruit punch lollipop and being released from care.”

Dude, it’s the mental trauma of not being respected. The scares you don’t see.

More details have emerged about Scottie Scheffler's arrest outside the PGA Championship this morning. According to a Louisville Metropolitan Police Department incident report, the events leading up to Scheffler's arrest left one police officer with mild injuries and one pair of pants horrifically mangled.

The incident report states that Detective Bryan Gillis was dragged by Scheffler's car, resulting in "pain, swelling, and abrasions to his left wrist and knee." Gillis was reportedly taken to the hospital for treatment, but his pants could not be saved. The last line of the incident report reads: "Detective Gillis's uniform pants, valued at approximately $80, were damaged beyond repair."

Scheffler, who has been charged with second-degree assault of a police officer, is set to be arraigned on May 21. He will have to answer for his role in the destruction of an $80 pair of pants that bravely protected Detective Gillis's lower extremities as he completed a tactical engagement with the side of Scheffler's car and the surrounding asphalt.

For now, Scheffler walks free.

Louisville’s next major golf tournament?

Never?
Honestly, forget about the Scottie stuff, which has only put a spotlight on what kind of a shitshow traffic situation there is surrounding that course, a volunteer getting killed because of the dangerous traffic situations are reason enough to never go back to Valhalla again until that situation gets resolved. T

he more I read about what a cluster it is for fans to get to the course, having to cross a 5-lane highway with a mess of orange cones everywhere with little direction, the more messed up the situation sounds.

Any average joe would still be in jail and half the board would be telling us it was his fault.
Well, any average joe isn’t playing in a major golf tournament, given a clearly marked courtesy car, or being waved through and around traffic so they can get to the course, only to have an officer go nuclear and escalate the situation.

All the charges will be dropped, or he’ll plead to something minor and do a PSA. Let’s not weep for him. The PGA and the organizers messed up, but in the end he made this happen. A bunch of golfers were behind the accident. It was not going to be a problem to push back the tee times.
The officers have a job to do, and from what I’ve read it was the scene of a fatality accident which is a crime scene. Mess that up and you’ve ruined a criminal or civil case.
FYI, an Iowa DOT worker was killed this week because someone in a hurry, or someone who was distracted, slammed into the DOT worker behind some safety comes. Another worker in the truck was injured. No doubt plenty of visual IDs and yellow lights flashing. It just isn’t that hard to obey traffic safety.

Sounded like a mess, the broadcast has noted that several players had to walk to the course.

In general, people drive way too fast near construction zones, i guess it is worth it to avoid being somewhere a minute or so later

Sure, be we only know about this cop overreacting because Scheffler is a well known golfer.
Cops overreact every day and the average citizen has to spend thousands of dollars to clear it up.

Betcha there are more citizens driving poorly (intentionally or not) than cops overreacting.
