I do think there is a difference between prosecution and illegal actions. I guess we will find out. I have no idea what authority Tump can or has given Musk.I’ve done my homework which is the reason I am asking lols. I think the Supreme Court kind of put a kabash on scaring people that aren’t afraid to use the power of the presidency.
Lofgren Statement on the U.S. Supreme Court’s Presidential Immunity Decision
"I strongly disagree with the Supreme Court on this decision ."lofgren.house.gov
The Court declared that a President is immune from prosecution when exercising the ‘core powers’ of the presidency. Immunity means a person cannot be prosecuted – it is not merely a defense to prosecution. Although the majority did not outline the exact ‘core powers,’ nor what would lay outside them as an ‘unofficial act’ with even one example from the case at-hand, there is no greater or clearer example of a ‘core power’ than what is outlined in Article II, Section II of the U.S. Constitution stating that the ‘President shall be the Commander in Chief.’
“During arguments on this case, a question was posed to Trump lawyers about whether a President could dispatch a ‘SEAL Team’ to kill his political enemies. Like the dissent articulated, the Court’s decision Monday answers that question with ‘yes.’ Under this ruling, if a President, in their official capacity, orders the military to kill other Americans – judges, elected officials, reporters, your neighbor – they can do so. I think most Americans, and I include myself, think that should be a crime. But the Court decision says that a President who did that would be immune from accountability under criminal law.
I'm telling you guys, @BrunoMars420 is just Bothsides Bins with bad music taste.
But he laughs more.
I find that helpful because then I know when to laugh.
You can out me right now, but the real Bruno Mars is a smooth m’fer. I, for one, enjoy his entire collection.
Authoritarians all over the world are cheering this action. Xi will happily move in as the US cedes its soft power around the globe.
How am I both siding it? I’m bringing up legitimate concerns of what happened and what Trump is doing. Also, I’m not sure if it is illegal or not with how I think it will be looked at and a stacked Supreme CourtI'm telling you guys, @BrunoMars420 is just Bothsides Bins with bad music taste.

Though better known for administering humanitarian aid around the world, USAID has a long history of engaging in intelligence work and meddling in the domestic politics of aid recipients.
...
In recent years, USAID’s alleged political meddling has been more subtle. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez frequently and famously accused the United States of covertly trying to overthrow him, but only after his death did evidence emerge to support his seemingly paranoid claims. A WikiLeaks cable released in 2013 outlined the U.S. strategy for undermining Chavez’s government by "penetrating Chavez’s political base," "dividing Chavismo," and "isolating Chavez internationally." The strategy was to be carried out by USAID’s Office of Transition Initiatives, the same office responsible for developing "Cuban Twitter," and involved funding opposition organizations in Venezuela.
...
These incidents have fed a narrative, embraced by some foreign governments, that USAID acts as a cover for U.S. intelligence programs. In recent years, an array of countries have accused USAID of interfering in their domestic politics or attempting to undermine their power. In 2013, Bolivian President Evo Morales expelled USAID officials from his country on the grounds that the agency had conspired against his government by allegedly "manipulating" social movements in the country. He also charged that that a previous USAID program that sought to help coca farms switch to new crops was politically motivated.
Russia expelled the agency in 2012 for similar reasons. Its foreign ministry argued in a statement that USAID "attempts to influence political processes through its grants," while President Vladimir Putin blamed U.S.-funded NGOs for inciting protests against his re-election.
And in February, Kenyan Cabinet Secretary Francis Kimemia claimed that his government had evidence that USAID had hired activists to organize anti-government protests in Nairobi, in an effort to "topple" the government.
I’ve said numerous times in this thread that I don’t agree with what Trump is doing. I am just wondering what would make this illegal within the power we created for the president with a stacked Supreme Court. You are somewhat sanewashing and somewhat playing devils advocate. I just don't fancy the tactic. You do you though.
Bruno, he is going to F up this country, and the sad thing is most republicans are ok with it now because they think it would be better if the country burned (because that is what Trump as told them). Little do they know what that entails. I will be fine. a lot of people won't if the sane ones to don't come to stop him soon.I’ve said numerous times in this thread that I don’t agree with what Trump is doing. With what everyone is considering illegal I am just wondering how it will all go down down the road as he is railroading his policies through right now.

Is being unable to be prosecuted the same as finding something illegal?I’ve said numerous times in this thread that I don’t agree with what Trump is doing. I am just wondering what would make this illegal within the power we created for the president with a stacked Supreme Court.

I mean smoking dope in Iowa is illegal but in Illinois it’s not. Not to get all social sciency but it is all dependent on what we as a society determine what is illegal or not. And unfortunately our Supreme Court basically said whatever a president does isn’t illegal. Is being unable to be prosecuted the same as finding something illegal?

The way I look at our current situation is Trump has free rein on using whatever his “core powers” are as president to do essentially whatever he wants right now ethics be damned.
You can do better. That first paragraph was terrible.I mean smoking dope in Iowa is illegal but in Illinois it’s not. There is no pardon for treason. That is all moot as Trump will pardon them all. Only chance they actually pay for what they do is a Luigi type paying them a visit. Or their peers making their lives as shit as possible for as long as they live.
I mean I agree with you that I think it is illegal and huge overstep of power. I also agree it’s unprecedented on how he is implementing everything and pushing his policies. It was very unprecedented on what the Supreme Court did this summer basically making the president a King.I think the best bet is to probably err on the side of its illegal and a gross overstep. The reason Elon picked young inexperienced techs is because they are also inexperienced at life and would be easier to make commit a crime whether they no it or not.
What is happening right now is unprecedented, and very damaging. Americans that don't want to live under Project 2025 rule should probably be taking the side of what is happening is illegal.
No I never said I wanted to. The Supreme Court and trumps current strategy are making it damn close to one tho.You just explained an autocrat. Do you want to live under an autocracy?
No I never said I wanted to. The Supreme Court and trumps current strategy are making it damn close to one tho.
I want checks and balances and we obviously don’t have that at all at the Federal level.
You're just not American/Patriotic enough to understand that we need an autocracy.Yeah, it's sad as hell too.
What’s made it worse is how polarizing things have become with no bipartisanship. So how we see it as autocratic a lot of people see it as “my side is doing what I want so I’m fine with it”Yeah, it's sad as hell too.

How have the revelations of wasteful spending damaged you, and where?

It’s trash
Like LSI? That does a ton of good here in Iowa?
Trump still can't break laws like killing people, refuse to pay taxes, etcI mean smoking dope in Iowa is illegal but in Illinois it’s not. Not to get all social sciency but it is all dependent on what we as a society determine what is illegal or not. But it’s not up to me other then my vote every couple of years on how I can change what is happening.
You mean the access to information and money the Democrats are so desperate to keep?A dude without security clearance with full access to classified information and infinite incentive to monetize our security for personal gain. What could go wrong?
