Just goes to show you that just a few brief seconds of an entire season (Gilman's match last night against Cruz), can mean the difference between being the national champion or being the 3rd place finisher.
An end to a fabulous career and I think Gilman to me will always go down as one of the greatest Hawk wrestlers never to win a national title.
Stop with the jealousy and envy. The dude is a hell of a coach whether your ego can acknowledge it or not. Accept it and stop acting like a poor loser and sounding like an Oklahoma State fan.

Not following you. Just pointing out a couple things Cael did that I personally would not have done. Whether PSU is in first or tenth makes no difference to me as it relates to those things.

I keep telling my boys that every second counts. Seems like there's been a lot of Hawkeye examples this year unfortunately.
EVERY coach in about any sport has a skeleton (s) in their closet that someone will find unethical. Hell, to this day there are many still unhappy and found it bush-league how Brands took an entire and great recruiting class with him from Virginia Tech to Iowa after they were there just one year.
Again, pick any sport, pick about any program, and you'll find something done that might not be considered cool.
I REALLY like Massa. That was a ass kicking of Jordan in the 3rd place 65 match. That is a tough ACTIVE freshman.

There are others here that have been to more NCAA Wrestling Championships than me I am sure, but I have been to four.
In those four Nationals I was at, I don't know if I can think of more than 1, maybe 2 wrestlers, who ended up winning their weight title, that at some point during the 3-day tourney weren't on the potential verge of losing, or were threatened somehow, or got caught in a move that could have easily flipped the match.
It's incredibly hard to win a title--even for the greatest of the wrestlers. The guys who win 2 or more, I just marvel at.
With three undefeated #1's going down (125, 133, and 174) who is the front runner for the Hodge?

I think Dean takes it if he beats Nickal due to it being his third title and because of the strength of the weight class. Snyder has the star power and Retherford/Nolf have the dominance factor.

That was sad Dudley did nothing but counter and got lucky. Brooks was coming after him. Good effort just got caught.
You know it was a bad Friday when even if Sammy would have won, and Clark won tonight, thus winning every match on Saturday, we still had no chance to even get third.
Dang, missed it. ESPN took a long break and it was over when they came back. Sammy has 4 losses this year and 3 of them came by fall.
Their coverage sucks. 20% of air time is actual wrestling.
I think Gilmans match was the only one of our matches that they showed the whole match....if they are going to cover wrestling show the fing wrestling....not interviews and commercials....they dont miss action like that in Basketball....if they want commercials take a commercial break between weight classes and then show the fing matches....jfc
Yeah it might have not gone well but right now we already have scored 12 more points than last year with opportunity for more tonight. If Gilman and Meyer or Wilcke win last night it would of been an ok day. We were just 2 takedowns away from that.
Go to ESPN3. Open Track wrestling on the side. No pain. And watch the mat you want,

I put Frydaze on ignore years ago....another guy that never comes to the wrestling board all year then shows up at the tournament to spew his knowledge upon us...hes a legend in his own mind
You mean you didn't like the 10 minute David Taylor interviews last night about how much fun PSU has, while the semis were going on? Lol
Should have 4th wrapped up unless gigantic upsets to both Retherford and Nolf. With Stoll, I think we have a very good chance to take 2nd.
