Marinelli was Champion of Champions? That stuns me for some reason if true. What did I miss?

Saw it on the tournament twitter. Seth Gross got OW.

Marinelli is clearly limited right now by his knee. My guess is Young gets a decent numbers of the matches from now til BIGs. Seems like Marinelli is in a Clark type situation. Hopefully he can get the same results and hopefully they can get it fixed after the season.

The thing about learning to win with this type of issue going on is, if you can get the issue fixed, it can take your wrestling to the next level by forcing you to learn different ways to score and win. One of Gable's philosophies.

I thought Bull had a great tournament the only time he looked limited was in the finals when he lunged out of the single. Not sure if it just looked awkward or it was the knee. What is the extent of his injury does anyone know?

You can try but like most of us former wrestlers I am a total badass so Just spill the beans before I have to take you out!

Exactly.....People that have never wrestled don't get it. My buddies always ask why they end up on their asses so quick. My answer. If you don't know, you don't know. Lol

It was the brace!
True story - maybe relevant. I once wrestled a kid from Cherokee (this dude had shoulders as wide as Montana and pipes like Robin Williams) when I was a Sophomore. I just had my knee drained and they put some huge wrap and some crazy big knee thing on. Somehow I got him on his back and he couldn't move for the pin. Never wore it again, Now that I am smarter about the power of the Knee brace - I wish I would have rode that wave of superpower to many HS Championships and NCAA and Oly Golds! But noooooo

You can't leave out the "I don't care how big you are" part.......just not the same effect. Clark Gable didn't just say...."Frankly My Dear"......and just slam the door in her face. Wait.....that might be better.....Nevermind ( Gilda Radnor reference ) :)

I was impressed with our guys. Stoll, Cash, and Marinelli, really stepped up. Kem and Sorensen did what we expected, which is always good. If we can get that 133 hole filled with a stud, we have a legit shot next year, assuming someone steps up to AA material at 141 and 174 which I think is realistic. Also assumes either Cash or Warner can make 184.

I wouldn't count Mitch Bowman out at 184 next season too. I like what I've seen and there's no reason he can't continue to improve. He did a dominate Wilcke in 2014 at Fargo. Obviously that was some time ago and freestyle but it does show that Bowman has a solid foundation and potential.

Tell the rest of us and just kill Grip220?
Typical Giants fan big mouth but nothing to back it up :p and I live in Ny so dont give me that Im a New yorker I will kick your ass BS. And no Im not a Jet fan either... On the other hand I would like to know how Bulls knee is really doing and I have not had a good ass kicking in a while so I will take one for the team.o_O

I think somewhere i read a while back, that Marinelli would wear the brace for the rest of the season, and thinking that suggested he may require surgery post season. A torn meniscus would not be a surprise.

Both Cash and Warner looked smaller than most of their opponents close up. I do think Cash certified at 184. Cash has learned to wrestle smart against these bigger guys. Warner gets worn down being aggressive trying to get through the head hands of these big dudes. He needs 10-15 more pounds of muscle and he'll be just fine. Hopefully going down, Cash will be more aggressive. He should be ranked 5th by Intermat after the weekend. If he brings it at NCAAs, I think he can be a top 4 guy but not much bonus along with that.

According to the article that I posted above, he does have a torn meniscus.

I kind of assumed he'd already had surgery, and the waiting to put him in the line-up was recovery time. These days, a properly done scope of the meniscus requires only a few weeks of rehab to be able to wrestle. It's not ideal, but can be done. St. John had his scoped in late January and was back for the Nat'l Duals his Soph year.

I've never even been to New York(well....not the city anyway). I've been a Giants fan since the first time I had the pleasure of watching #56 play, back when I was about 11.

Most Giants fans from the city that I've met make me want to rethink that decision.

If they have to repair it then recovery is more like 6-8 weeks, but if they remove torn part the it's just a few weeks.
