So ... does anyone have any GOOD news to share? (Not Political)

My grandfather passed away on Wednesday while I was flying to Arizona for work. The silver lining is he's no longer suffering anymore. Also, my parents are now done with the care aspect which was a lot for them (they had to do all of his feedings through his feeding tube. They also administered chemotherapy on more than one occasion).

Is this now the official IT'S FRIDAY thread?

Some good news is it's the last day of January. I can booze a bit again if I want. But I think I'm still gonna hold off for awhile. I'm thoroughly enjoying how I feel after a month of no drankin'.
I did the month, have lost some weight, and generally feel better. My only thing is I have been having a hard time getting to sleep, and once I do, I have weird dreams. I'm going until Feb. 9th.

I'll usually have a little THC before bed, so I sleep like a baby. But I think my plan is to also go until the Super Bowl, then have some drinks that day. Then I'll probably just wait until my 4 day weekend for March Madness and get buck wild.

I should probably try the weed, but my source doesn't do gummies and I don't smoke. Super Bowl for me, then after that I'll moderate. Maybe 1 or 2 drinks a week.

Daughter's softball team chose the dirtbags as their name a few years back. Won everything that year. Must have been the name.
I don't know if it's still the case but as of five or so years ago the Dirtbags had the most current players in the MLB of any university nationwide. You may be on to something.

SO bought a fairly expensive hutch/china cabinet type thing from an estate sale. She said 1902, looks more like 1950’s to me. Whatever.
Price was high enough to come with “free” delivery.

Delivered Tuesday…they broke the glass on the door, and upon further inspection kinda broke the whole things “shape”- some of the glass shelves didn’t fit, from apparent shifting of the main pieces.

She was…upset. She contacted estate seller today. He refunded the entire purchase price, will repair the glass/door, and let her keep the piece.

I gotta say, I was shocked that was immediate response, with apologies. Movers apparently didn’t inform him, he was not happy
