Hawkeyes lose DewHawk ready to pounce on players for “no effort”.
The effort was there; however they were tired and not fighting through picks or boxing out.Purdue also dropped threes like rain.
They have four players (McCaffrey, Garza, Wieskamp, and Fredrick) playing 35 minutes a game, so it it understandable with four games in ten days they would be gassed.
After they beat Nebraska on Saturday I am sure you will be back posting more of your shallow platitudes. See you on the bandwagon.
I don’t want to get in this fight but you posted the effort was there but they failed to fight through picks and didn’t box out. To me that means they didn’t put forth the effort to accomplish this.
I did contradict myself didn’t I? Tired legs = bad execution. Effort against Illinois was outstanding and I think it took a lot out of them. They were just a step slower than Purdue Wednesday.
I was as disappointed as anyone about the Purdue game as I did not see it coming. But rather than take my frustration out by beating up a team that has overachieved all year, I took mine out on DewHawk.

I am not sure what your problem is other than you just want to be obstinate. But nothing I said was inconsistent or "pouncing on players". Reading comprehension might be something you need to work on versus trying to twist other's words,
1) I said Purdue was a bad effort and I did not say they did not give their best effort. If you thing it was a great effort, well..........
2) I said "If they are not personally embarrassed by this game things will go south". I can assure you there is not any competitive person who would not have been embarrassed getting beaten like the Purdue game.
3) As far as a fair weather fan comment you are being utterly ludicrous. I have been an Iowa fan for over 60 years and never gave up on any football/basketball team or quit following/watching them regardless of their record at the time.. I supported/attended games thru 20 years of losing football seasons.
Look I get it you just want to subject everyone else with your awesome correctness, so I will block you and you can research and quote some other unsuspecting soul. Sadly, you must be a pretty miserable human being. Get well soon!
