I wondered whether some heard.I think everyone knows when they hear coach talk
But sure, assuming everyone is listening... others may simply wish to express their feelings, irrespective of Coach Brand's clarity, which is perfectly fine here.

Heck, maybe I misunderstood Trapper's comments. If so, my bad...You both agree SL should only wrestle if healthy and then trapper made a joke about ISU?
Good one! 🤣we willed him to wrestle too soon
You still have to knock the rust off. If he is cleared to wrestle, he should wrestle that dual. It's a decent opponent, but not someone that should challenge him physically. He could wrestle conservatively, avoid compromising positions for his knee, still WRECK the guy and get some very valuable mat time.I disagree. Losing Spencer Lee to an injury because we willed him to wrestle too soon would be the end of the world. I want this kid to win his 4th, and frankly I don't give a shit which duals we lose in order to have a healthy Spencer at NCAAs.
You conjuring a magic spell or something “willing,” SL to wrestle? I don’t think it works that way.I disagree. Losing Spencer Lee to an injury because we willed him to wrestle too soon would be the end of the world. I want this kid to win his 4th, and frankly I don't give a shit which duals we lose in order to have a healthy Spencer at NCAAs.
Doesn’t matter. I’m a fan of the program and I donate to the program which I chose to do. So you donate?
I disagree, duals vs Sacred Heart and Chattanooga don’t matter, duals vs your In State Rival do. The Stalemates video pretty succinctly illustrates the recent history. I live in Southern Cali and I remember where I was and what I was doing the last time Iowa St won. Obviously National titles are the goal every year, but absent a monumental collapse (ie major injury to PSU starters) they are going to run away with the title, a big win vs the Clones would be a nice consolation prize. How Iowa fares vs. PSU at nationals wasn't the point. The point was that no one remembers those duals. Duals are fun and interesting but NCAAs matter, duals really do not.
The most eye opening part of this thread to me is that there are Hawkeye fans that actually waste time worrying about ISU. They're so out of the realm of relevance to us I don't waste a second worrying about whether we win or lose to them.
I wouldn't wrestle our worst guy prematurely if he was at risk of furthering an injury, let alone Spencer Lee.
Obviously a clown beat down is always enjoyable, but Hawk fans acting like beating them is the second most important event of the year just gives them the relevance that they yearn for.
Without Spencer and Woods we lose this dual. Yes that would suck due to isu fans and the reactions we would get here. Bottom line is March but you’re kidding yourself if you don’t think this is important.
We should still win 133, 149, 157, 174, 197, HWT... not writing off PK either. The very fact that it takes being down two horses to lose should tell you you all you need to know about the importance of a dual.
I love PK, but he isn’t beating David Carr this Sunday. We should still win 133, 149, 157, 174, 197, HWT... not writing off PK either.
It is time to put some respect on Cobe Seibrecht's name. He is certainly a favorite over ISU. Wrestlestats formula (not the end all be all) has Cobe #16 and ISU #114....I love PK, but he isn’t beating David Carr this Sunday.
If Lee doesn’t go, Terukina gets bonus at 125.
Attasauov battled ADS last season and held him to a decision, it’ll be close either way at 133.
141 Swiderski wins over Bennett
149 Murin will have his hands full with the guy that upset Austin Gomez.
157 Kraisser likely wins over Seibrecht (unless he tries to pin him)
165 Carr over P K
174 Brands dec over Broderson
184 Coleman over Assad
197 Could go either way (the Cuban won their last meeting)
Hwt Cass over Schuyler
This is going to be a nail biter if Lee and Woods don’t go.
i think siebrecht is a solid favorite over kraisserI love PK, but he isn’t beating David Carr this Sunday.

I don't know I can have Warner as a favorite here.We should still win 133, 149, 157, 174, 197, HWT... not writing off PK either.

I like Seibrecht, he’s got big balls, and got a big win over Artalona, but the 157 jokes on this board aren’t for nothing. If Kraisser finishes with short time vs Model in the dual vs Wisconsin then he’s ranked. I hope I’m wrong and the dual is a blow outPlease explain, in detail, why Kraisser likely wins…
That’s very little detail or reasoning…. Doubt there’s still time to delete your post unfortunately.I like Seibrecht, he’s got big balls, and got a big win over Artalona, but the 157 jokes on this board aren’t for nothing. If I give you my address could you ship me your black and gold goggles? I’ll be much less nervous on Sunday 😉That’s very little detail or reasoning…. Doubt there’s still time to delete your post unfortunately.
Btw, Cobe by major.
Black and gold goggles for calling you out on you’re choosing a clear favorite up and comer Hawkeye to beat some turd for ISU? Maybe you oughta just have a coke and smile and admit you made a smooth brain prediction. If I give you my address could you ship me your black and gold goggles? I’ll be much less nervous on Sunday 😉
What would you describe him as? Be honest.Cobe is an “up and comer” now? This is his 4th year in the room. Maybe pump the breaks a tad. I like his heart and he’s easy to root for (like Rudy Rudiger) but make no mistake this dual is going to be a nail biter. Hopefully some Hawks over perform.
this prediction sucksI love PK, but he isn’t beating David Carr this Sunday.

I would describe him as a kid with a lot of guts/ heart, who obviously works his ass off but wasn’t highly recruited for a reason. (1 Division 1 Iowa HS state title doesn’t quite woo the college scouts) He’s technically flawed and better wrestlers will exploit that. His style is flashy and exciting and will lead to some impressive wins like we saw vs Penn and sometimes he’s gonna struggle. Before that Penn win, he was ranked 11th in the B10, sorry he’s not someone I’m pinning too many hopes on. I have been wrong before and would love for him to make me eat my words. What would you describe him as? Be honest.
Or just stop while you’re behind and quit this thread.
11th in the B10 is laughable! Lol!I would describe him as a kid with a lot of guts/ heart, who obviously works his ass off but wasn’t highly recruited for a reason. Hahahahhahhaaaa! “World beater” & “My boy”….1 Lewan Mich
2 Robb Nebby
3 Lee Minnesota
4 Coleman Purdue
5 Model Wisconsin
6 Saldate Mich St
7 Chumbley Northwestern
8 Barraclaugh PSU
9 Gallagher Ohio St
10 Clark Rutgers
Then your boy.
Pre- season had Reyna 10th. It’s won’t just be me that’s wrong if he becomes an “up and coming” world beater.
Don’t feel bad, Aiden Harris is Spooners boy!Hahahahhahhaaaa! “World beater” & “My boy”….
You know what I mean. LOL!You conjuring a magic spell or something “willing,” SL to wrestle? I don’t think it works that way.
Doctors decide. Than the athlete and coaches.
can tell Goodwin is young if he thought that 2020 dual was the biggest barn burner in the series
there have been many more when both teams and their wrestlers were higher ranked……. that one isn’t even top 10
11th in the B10 is laughable! Lol!
i'd move him above clark, but 10th is very reasonable. all of those guys have more proven track records. i think his ceiling is 5-6, but he's more likely to not place than do that. the top 4 is solid. model and saldate have some nice results. chumbley destroyed him last summer. barraclaugh is beatable, but tough and paddy is highly touted though i'm not nearly as high on him.1 Lewan Mich

Are you sure you know what “ran a train on us” means? Cause I’m gonna have to deny that.Remember how awesome it was when we beat PSU in those duals but then they ran a train on us at nationals? Yeah. Me neither.
This... We always talk about bonus point needs, and other than his match at 165, top of my head he is 4-0, 4 bonus point wins. Thats the making of what we wanted out of 157Please explain, in detail, why Kraisser likely wins…
Best career win is a 6-5 loss to Model. Cobe rolls. Go Hawks!Someone that knows..help me out.
What is the ISU 157's best win in his career?
At Carver...Cobe is the clear fav.
Dude… you could have crushed it by mic dropping an irregardless at the end.I sure hope the Hawkeye wrestlers don't accept all that they read on this board as gospel. I mean this team is the number 2 ranked team in the country for good reason. Yes, I understand we have some starters out and yes we have lots of new faces..... BUT... we need to get the Swagger back !! We need to start believing that we can win on any given mat on any given day. If we don't think we can win then why even wrestle the matches? I mean all the opinions and predictions in the world wont settle this debate....it will be settled on the mat by our wrestlers who will take territory and intimidate their opponents with a thundering crowd at Carver firmly behind them. ISU has new faces as well and have they ever wrestled in front of 14,000 crazed Hawkeye fans before? My guess is NO.... we cant put all our hopes on them being rattled but I honestly believe that the mental edge has to go to the Hawks and TNT will surely have them ready , regardless who is in our line up.
