postponed. Due to terror attack this morning In New Orleans.
That just ruined alot of fans vacation. Ouch.

I'm unsure as to what this accomplishes. How does waiting one day mitigate anything related to this tragedy?
agreed. Just a PR move . Make it look like you are being respectful of those who lost loved ones? Waiting one day really kinda rings hollow.

Especially the dead people.

You don’t have very good takes regarding this situation. Probably should’ve just let Fran start this thread like I’m sure he wanted to.

From what I've been hearing, this could be a terrorist cell. And they wanna make sure that it's not gonna branch over to the sugar bowl game. They want to catch it all the perpetrators. Cause they say there could be several.
Yeah. That's what I heard after commenting as well.

Reports are the suspect was not working alone
There’s also reports of more explosive devices around NO

Absolutely right thing to do. There’s still risk

As of now, 15 are dead.

Looks like 5 people were involved in the attack. Police officers killed one, 42-year-old Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a U.S. citizen from Texas, who emerged from the truck and opened fire on responding officers.

Authorities said Jabbar drove onto a sidewalk, going around a police car that was positioned to block vehicular traffic and protect Bourbon Street revelers. A barrier system designed to prevent vehicle attacks was undergoing repairs in preparation for the Super Bowl, which is being played in the city in February.

The FBI said it was investigating Jabbar to determine "potential associations and affiliations with terrorist organizations." An Islamic State group flag was recovered in the vehicle driven by Jabbar. Investigators do not believe Jabbar was "solely responsible" for the attack, the FBI said. According to the agency's intelligence bulletin, surveillance footage showed three men and a woman placing one of multiple improvised explosive devices in the French Quarter.

This was a terrorist attack
It’s the right thing to do to postpone
15 people are dead

If there’s more suspects and potentially more risk of violence….yeah let’s just have 70k come together like nothing happened.

It’s best to give a little space and be sure it’s safe.

This same type of terrorist attack occurred in Paris during the Xmas holiday shopping season

new orleans is a third world country anyways, add terrorism to the mix: probably not really a lot of folks wanting to hang out there anyways right now ... they might lose some folks who just leave and drive home.

Agreed, despite what they're being told, I'm sure some folks won't trust things and will simply skip the game.
And it's been a few years since I've been there, but I don't ever need to go back. Your "third world" comment might be a bit strong, but other than the good food, it's a nothingburger to me. You just feel dirty everywhere you go.

Yep, that "dirty" feeling is pretty much across the entire state.

I bet they're inspecting that stadium with a fine tooth comb.

That's so dumb. Soft, leftist decision.
Why don't the other breitbart hacks tell you to take this to the OT board? You love bringing politics into everything. Probably what happens when you don't watch any sports. And no, sucking Kirk Ferentz's dick does not count as a sport, though you surely need the cardio dontcha fat boy?

How was Houston's spacing and rhythm on offense yesterday? You NBA watcher, you.

Oh that’s a good one! Wow look at you go! You take Kirk’s dick out of your mouth for two seconds to come up with that zinger. Now back you go to breitbart to find some cool buzzwords you can repeat & try to pass off as your own.

You watch sports. You know so much about sports because you watch sports. I can't come up with anything else. You're too much of a sports expert for me to compete. You're also an awesome golfer.

Well at least you’re learning. Let us know next time you watch a football, baseball or basketball game in which the Hawks aren’t playing. It’ll be cause for celebration since it’s the first time you’ll be doing so.

Two things. First there were persons involved who might also have friends relatives involved in the game. Second time to sweep the stadium, check all venders, and put additional safety precautions in place. A lot of police busy elsewhere and would not have been available.

Stayed in NOLA many times. Love the city, one of the most beautiful in the US, with great music, food, all-around vibe. But it’s almost Mogadishu now. Left a wonderful dinner there in 2019 and vowed to never go back.

Agree. I go there for work frequently. So much potential but, as is with any shared-misery leadership philosophy, they don’t cater to their strengths any longer as much as they cater to their weaknesses.
