US men’s soccer at noon on USA Network vs Guinea. Win or draw gets a spot in the quarterfinals.

US women’s rugby quarterfinal vs Great Britain at 2:30 on E! Entertainment Television. Winner will play for a medal.

I’m certainly the farthest thing from an expert but my amateur observation is the US seems super athletic but pretty poor on technique and strategy compared to the better teams.
Strategy, no. Our players at this level now play long enough to really know the game. Technique? Yes. Absolutely. Just look at the drop kicking ability of GB vs us. That said, we have the lead now…

Are these Sevens games super short because of how physically grueling they are?
Exactly. Seven grueling minutes,l each half, seven players a side.

The last time that USA Rugby played for a medal it was 1924 when the US men won gold over France. Well let’s have a century party in Paris! US will play a medal game!

We only have to play New Zealand for a shot at a gold medal match. LOL

And then there is 15s, which are 80 minutes long with 40 minute halves. This is much closer to football as far as you having forwards (the big dudes that, depending upon position, are like o-line/d-line, TE, and LBs) and backs (RBs, WRs, DBs).

7s is basically go-go-go and tons of sprints.
