SWARM CEO Brad Heinrichs Interview. 20% of SWARM Beer SALES & 25% of Vodka SALES goes to SWARM. Says they need 10,000+ paying members; they're @ 1,800

One thing I have learned about Brad is that you cannot buy beer around him :)

I drank a bunch of his beer, where buying it wasn't cheap....tried to throw in some money in when he wasn't around and his friends he was with was like, that is not happening....he won't take it.

ZachJump—I’m always up for buying Hawk fans beers. It’s my love language. Let’s go!!

You 2 need to calm down; you both clearly overreacted to my comments.

It's a fact that the Iowa program has made a lot of players millionaires. It is clearly not insane or stupid to think that they would be contributing to SWARM. And I hope they are. That's all I said.

What is insane and what is stupid is your replies.
I wonder if Kutcher is involved or would get involved. He is big into tech stuff, assume he would have some good ideas and some connections. Maybe with kids he doesn't have time.

When people get time, they should watch the video in the orig post

And if @Tx_Hawk were to advertise SWARM on the jumbotron during games, he's have to pay for it
Has anyone ever purchased or engaged in commerce for a good or service based on an ad seen inside Kinnick stadium. I can say in my 40 some years of going I never have. They make me angry when they have stuff up on the board and I want to see a replay or a full screen replay.

One ad in one location never has the intention of getting you to buy by itself. It's just part of a campaign to keep it visible and relevant. In this case it gives Swarm credibility when people hear about it multiple times and then decide to look into it on their own.

People have been complaining about Iowa recruiting for eons.

Fans despair about us not getting more higher-rated recruits on campus. Our coaches continue to mine multi-sport small-town athletes ... and find success.

I wouldn't be surprised if Iowa's developmental philosophy is still one that is quite sustainable ... even in the current NIL era.

Anyhow ... the last time the Hawkes had a sub-.500 season ... that coincided with a massive shift on the coaching staff (which also coincided with a shift in scheme). Methinks that it is a hyperbolic exaggeration to suggest that Iowa will go straight to the cellar if folks don't pony up to NIL collectives.

I turned my back on the NFL when personnel management turned to fantasy-football style roster-management. Should collegiate football continue to go in that direction ... then it will have lost my fandom too.
You can look for those multi-sport small-town athletes to hit the portal after they've been developed if we don't stay relevant in the NIL game.

Even the cheap losers on this board that work at McDonald’s can afford a Swarm membership at $200/year. It is literally less than an hour of your time per month that you’re volunteering for your favorite team so that they can recruit a roster that can win championships. You have time to comment online you have time to clean lol

I'm not sure that you understand people then ... or else, maybe you didn't read my prior post(s).

Under-recruited guys who the Hawks help to develop ... they understand how much time, energy, and love the coaching staff invests in them. The process typically creates a strong bond where both sides (players and coaches) are VERY loyal to each other. In such an instance, it wouldn't take a whole lot of NIL-money (if any) to keep guys around.

Of course, if the NIL money is there ... the coaches are going to advocate for those top-developed guys to stick around. They're happy for their guys to get paid. However, what they all are working together toward, is for the guy to develop into a great man AND, hopefully, into a NFL-caliber player.

I'd urge you to look at how many low-recruited guys have favorably developed at Iowa ... and then consider how many you think would have left (due to insufficient NIL-money)?

Ain't. Got. NO. Money!

Got any money for beer?

Iowa's SWARM Collective is partnering with Exile Brewing Company to produce the SWARM Golden Ale, available in tap room and on store shelves by late July, per release.

20% of profits will go to the SWARM collective.

Still less than a year since SWARM launched.

Swarm Golden Ale will be available for fans to purchase in retail stores, restaurants, entertainment venues, and the taproom at Exile Brewery in Des Moines.

Exile Brewing Company is a locally owned, family business. Every drop of their beer is brewed, bottled, kegged, and canned at their historic brewery in downtown Des Moines.

I stand by my comment that calling someone out for not donating to the swarm but have generated millions for disabled vets and sick children is insane. You can debate my choice of words but the informal definition according to Oxford dictionary is shocking or outrageous. I could have used the synonym outrageous to state the same thing.

As for the stupid comment, please point it out and I will apologize...otherwise you just called yourself stupid.

you are still standing by your overreaction?

wow. not sure why you would admit that, but hey, thanks for letting us know.

good Lord.

With a SWARM ad in Kinnick Stadium, people might hear about the SWARM collective for the first time or they might learn more about it.

When fans learn that SWARM got us McNamara, All, Brown, etc, they might want to start donating.

When fans learn that they can support SWARM by buying SWARM beer, they just might do it.

No over reaction, you said I posted something I did not. Instead of admitting you are wrong, you try to change the narrative. People that make things up to try to frame their point of view is pathetic. Thanks for showing me your true colors. Good lord.

You know what else is insane and stupid? You bringing politics to the football forum.
I've never once seen you have a problem with any of the right wing political posts that are now all over this board including after this post in this thread which of course you ignored. Weird.

At least be honest and say bringing left wing politics here is insane and stupid since it's clear that's all you and the vast majority of this board get pissy about

Politics are only for the off topic board. Simple as that. If political posts show up where they shouldn't be, normally I just go right past them and don't even bother reading them because other posters start calling the person out. But, if on a rare occasion I see someone posting politics and THEN they call someone stupid/insane, I might reply to that idiot who brought his personal politics to a sports ONLY forum.

@Tx_Hawk

Just curious if you will get this beer in all Hy-Vee liquor stores (not just the Iowa stores).

Iowa alumni are everywhere and Hy-Vee has stores in Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The Kansas City and Minneapolis/St Paul metro Hy-Vee stores, in particular, would sell a lot of this beer I would think.

spoke to the buyer at Hy-Vee Illinois location about the swarm beer & he said that as of now they aren't able to get it. bummed

"if this beer gets on the level of popularity as like our most popular beer Ruthie, you’d be looking at a donation for The Swarm of hundreds of thousands of dollars annually from Exile.”

Will you continue to purchase season tickets if the product on the field barely has a pulse?

I stopped purchasing season tickets and give to SWARM, I also stopped my I-Club donations.
I purchase 4 season tickets every year and have for quite some time. I love the game day atmosphere. I love the tailgating. I have sat through great times and frustrating times. I am not by nature a “basher” but if I want to question why our QB can’t throw a 5 yard out, I will do it if I want. I am still on the fence on the Swarm. Nothing negative about the people. I just have a laundry list of places/organizations I give to including caretaking for a member of my family. So stop the crap about not having the right to do this or that if I don’t join the Swarm. I don’t make judgements on your life so maybe don’t make it on others. Frankly comments like that make me think even harder about joining. Turn off.

Btw I WILL buy the beer. Already buy beer, like Exile so why not replace what I’m buying with that? Smart move on Swarm’a part.

I was a season ticket holder for 20+ years also, I too paid my per seat donation when that started. I was reseated about 2 or 3 times during those years. I have sat through freezing cold games and hotter than hell games. I have been drenched to the bone at times also. I leased parking and tailgating spots off Melrose Ave. I have seen the Hawkeyes at their best and worst. I also loved the game day atmosphere despite the crackdown on drinking a few years back however the tv contracts made it easier for me to watch from a pub or from home and I reluctantly gave up my tickets. I do miss the Magic Bus days though.

The world of college football has changed and the teams with the most NIL will get the best players the reality of that is here and now. If we don't have a strong SWARM we won't get the players to compete especially with So Cal and UCLA joining next year.

I can't fathom how anyone who claims to be a fan will not support SWARM even at the entry level and as I stated earlier 1800 members is a joke, it should be 25,000 at least.

We are just going to have to disagree on what constitutes an all in fan.

I don’t CLAIM to be a fan. I am a fan. YOU don’t get to decide for me or anyone else. It is because of self righteous people like you, is why it is most likely why I will NEVER sign up for the SWARM. Sometimes you can’t brow beat your way through life dude.

You outed yourself as what type of fan you are especially by trying to use me as your excuse for not contributing. I contribute in spite of alleged fans like you and you were never going to contribute to begin with.
