So I’ll retract what I said about not selling the beer at Kinnick. They can mark it up however they want as this doesn’t cut into their profits.

Exclusivity contracts for the current vendors is what I heard on a podcast today as a potential obstacle.I guess the question then becomes, why would Barta be opposed to selling SWARM beer at Kinnick?
After all,
* Barta / the Iowa Athletic Dept is still making money selling beer
* SWARM benefits because more beer is being distributed
What am I missing where Barta could say "no" to having SWARM beer at Kinnick, Carver, etc?
cc: @Tx_Hawk
Just hope it tastes good also.I have no idea why Barta or Aramark would say no, but I have secured a meeting to find out the answer on 5/24. I will report back when I get the answer. From where I sit, this should be marketed and sold everywhere in Kinnick and Carver. And I say this with the Hawkeyes and our community in mind, not me personally. I have nothing more to gain from this than anybody else on this board.
We just want the Hawks to be successful.

Yep. Hyvee's all over the place down here. I think there are 25 in KC Metro......Do you know if @kceasthawk will be able to get it at Hy-Vee liquor stores in Kansas City?
There are tons of alumni in Minneapolis/St Paul and Hy-Vee has a huge presence there, too.
Typically with Hy-Vee, if you ask that they carry a product, they at least attempt to.
And name is on Arrowhead.Yep. Hyvee's all over the place down here. I think there are 25 in KC Metro......
Not hardly. Hyvee is a sponsor. Its GEHA field at Arrowhead. Thats for Government Employees Health Association. Interesting since GEHA is a "non profit" and the health and wellness arm for the federal govt. employees, so just where does the $$ come from for them to have the naming rights for a pro football stadium? Hmmmm...And name is on Arrowhead.

I like that idea ... Clown fans supporting our NIL is ...Just hope it tastes good also.
And let's change the lyrics................................ "in Heaven there is no SWARM beer! That's why we drink it here!"
And when Iowa State plays at Kinnick, it should be the only beer sold that day. Watch those Clowns buy Hawkeye beer!

Yes, I know. Was just at a Royals game. Just saying the HyVee name is there. Not hardly. Hyvee is a sponsor. Its GEHA field at Arrowhead. Thats for Government Employees Health Association. Can we get a Swarm Stout in the works?
Can we get a Swarm Stout in the works?
Let’s make the Golden Ale a rousing success and then we shall see about additional beers/seltzers.I would think anything is possible
Okay. then why would a "non profit" branch of the federal govt, (tax $$ at work), be advertising and marketing? You have to be a current or retired federal employee to join. Its not like Joe football fan can join up with GEHA. I know what it costs just to be a "sponsor" at Arrowhead. I used to be involved in bidding for the rights for my company to be a sponsor and the price is crazy, and that was 20 years ago. I'm sure its worse now. Exclusive naming rights, "GEHA Field" have to be ridiculous......Probably from their advertising and marketing budget.

What division do you believe Iowa would be electing to participate in?

Will you continue to purchase season tickets if the product on the field barely has a pulse?
I stopped purchasing season tickets and give to SWARM, I also stopped my I-Club donations.
Spent many years in Iowa City. You are full of my it. You probably have never even been in Iowa City.
I would imagine they will make a beer for the clones too.I feel bad for Exile. They are about to join a long list of businesses across the country that have been bankrupted by a Cyclone boycott.
WHEN WILL THESE BUSINESSES LEARN!?!?!?!
Too late. Already out of business. From the boycott.I would imagine they will make a beer for the clones too.
Good choice, I wonder if they have a forum where they discuss the work done thereWatching the baseball game, there was a commercial for Big 10 academics and they were talking to a professor and a grad student passionate about trying to solve the plastics problem. I want to donate to them, not semi pro athletes.

Not sure it was ever an honest system. Heck Iowa was booted from the B1G long ago for not being honest. More honest? PossibleA discussion of priorities is appropriate.
If you are willing to just drop the higher education part and make it a subsidiary corporation and pay players it would be a more honest system.
