Teasdale

Didn't mean to contribute to a panic stricken Sunday night guys, haha!
Hawk fans are the best. We're extremely passionate when it comes to our Hawkeyes, and at the same time, can take it to borderline cringe worthy creepy cyberstalking levels (I'm guilty too).
Like Chief mentioned tho, you do and can find some indicators on where a kids head is at when it comes to recruiting.
For example, Brady Berge used to tweet and retweeted tons of Hawkeye stuff than about five or six months ago, it gradually trended to tweets and retweets of mostly penn state stuff. Lo and behold, Berge committs to psu after many here thought he was a lock for Iowa.
And, all the kids are on twitter now. It's become it's own network/wrestling forum for the the young stars and future stars of wrestling. Ohio St is super active on twitter. Their coaches, alums, and students all tweet, A LOT. It puts their name out their more, especially when a couple of them win world titles. So, I'm sure it helps in the recruiting process as well.
Some kids love it when past world champs and coaches tweet at them. It's a big deal for some.Hell, Mark Hall is still icing his but after a coach unfollowed him on twitter. Mark, I hope you're doing ok.
For being such a prominent program, for better or for worse,Iowa's twitter game is nearly non existent. The young bucks are doing it more now, so maybe the trend will pick up. It's definitely another insight to Iowa wrestling.
Right now, the more interesting one to follow on twitter as far as recruiting insight would probably be Gable Stevenson. Only thing I know for sure is that he for sure will make his decision when he wants to. No idea where he's leaning as he has been congratualting and retweeted a lot of different schools of late, mostly related to his world teammates on their commitments.
However, since I have the luxury of anonymity, of being a fanboy, and a complete lack of responsibility to be right about anything in the wrestling world, I'll take a guess and say he's leaning psu. Surprise, surprise.
I guess bottom line in all this is that you take everything with a grain of salt, especially on social media and online message forums. Great thing about these things is that everyone has a voice, that's also the downside of it too, sometimes.

Maybe you can start a GoFundMe account to hire a tweeter for Tom? Would be his only responsibility, to find and like every potential recruits twitter, and tweet about them on a regular basis. Preferably a very good looking young lady would be hired, and her picture would be tweeted on a regular basis. I might even follow at that point-as soon as I find enough money to hire my own tweeting specialist!

I've lost all respect for this board after this ridiculous thread. A bunch of grown me worried about a teenager and his twitter account. How gay

And before all you long time posters try to find something witty to admonish me for saying it, think before you type.

I'm a 46 yr old man with a wife and two children. The last thing I'm worried about is where a boy I don't know goes to college. You people doing investigative twitter work and the idiot that actually tweeted at him should be ashamed.

I hope this does get to FloRadioLive..will show a lot to people that don't read the boards

Don't know what I'll do now. Classy on the bolded portion, by the way.

Go jump in the River. The line is short for that.

It was funny because we went through the same thing with two guys only a few months ago in Mejia and Renteria...all references removed, we speculated, boom they were gone. Then it was Berge, a seemingly lifelong Iowa fan did the same and started retweeting everything PSU and ended up at... PSU. All of this found out on Twitter. Glad Teasdale isn't headed anywhere...following threads would make this one look overwhelmingly positive.

As for social media and/or stalking twitter, I would never notice if someone changed their status unless someone pointed it out. However, it's increasingly apparent that this is where recruits announce their intentions. Like it or not, Twitter and the like matter...so if you are interested in your recruits, recruiting, finding out where guys go to visit...this is where you get the info. Yea, HR shit the bed last night but its not like there wasn't a precedent set for this kind of thing happening before...and very recently.

Kind of ironic that you mentioned FRL...They have made a whole industry about what kids are thinking and where they are going to college. They even go all the way to 17 year old's kids houses to find out and interview them. Is that gay?

There is no doubt a foreign government is trying to impact the integrity of our wrestling commits. As faithful Hawks we need to take action and we will at a time and place of our own choosing.

All intelligence indicates, Russian hackers breached individual twitter accounts prior to the signing of letters of intent. Russia's targeted hacking of wrestling commits, is continuing unabated, despite attempts to block access, by TnT according to unspecified sources.

All indications are Putin (or possibly Ryan) is involved directly or indirectly. He wants Teasdale to defect and wrestle for Russia/Ohio State. Undisclosed sources tell me this definitely won't happen. Teasdale will wrestle for the Hawks, so be at ease everyone. You heard it here first. Hope this puts a fork in the pickle.

I'm about to lose all respect for a poster who blames a WHOLE BOARD for what a couple of people do on a ridiculous thread.

Blame EVERYBODY.

Over reaction much?

You're absolutely right that you shouldn't care about where a boy you don't know is going to College. But then that is what other people's interest in recruiting is all about.

Now what I don't really understand is why you would want this to get to FloRadioLive. Some sort of punishment thingy? Why would you wish any harm to anyone ?

That is their business (how they make money) so I don't see anything wrong with what they do. I don't even have an issue following these kids on twitter since we all fans. But to worry about things they post, profile changes, etc is "creepy." I shouldn't have used the word "gay," "creepy" would have been the better word.

I agree. I don't' understand how grown men can get on a website dedicated to reading all the latest rumors, news and gossip surrounding these 16, 17, 18 year old kids. People are sick. Oh wait...

Doesn't make you any less of a hypocrite tho...

Sure...but there is a market for it. Without fans being interested, there would be no Flo or trips to recruits houses keeping us on the edge of our seat. When it gets near committing time, you better believe fans whether Iowa, PSU, tOSU are paying attention to stuff on Twitter and other social media boards. Fans want recruiting info. So if a recruit is posting a crapload of stuff about Iowa, PSU, OSU, Minne etc...it gets noted; by all fan bases. If a recruit deletes his "I proudly commit to the University of Iowa etc" which is pinned to his Twitter at the top, it gets noted. BTW, Spencer Lee still has his...but I guess I'm being creepy. Social media, at best, keeps us up on what they are doing wrestling wise, where they are headed to tourneys etc. At worst, it produces days like this whether its speculation or an announcement that goes the other way.

Fans are going to overreact to losses, coaching, wins, recruiting etc...it's not the first time HR has gotten spun up and it won't be the last. BTW, there were an equal amount (or more) of guys on here last night saying don't get spun up, much ado about nothing, etc so your initial post was a hasty generalization. I am unabashedly a fan...If Teasdale went somewhere else it would suck because he is going to be part of something big and was an important cog in it. Still, would have wished him the best at his chosen destination because in the end...he is just a young man. When HR stops doing that, than you can jump on us and call us gay.

I don't disagree about the power of social media. Heck, our last election was heavily influenced by social media. Even Rogue One, the latest Star Wars movie was heavily influenced by some jack hole who said the movie is anti-Trump (it's not by the way...best Star Wars movie to date!). Hawk coaches need to be wise as a serpent, but that doesn't mean fans need to panic every time a 16 or 17 year old young man posts (or doesn't post) something on twitter.
Nothing beats return of the Jedi c'mon!!!!

I think even Godless heathens on here could agree to at least one deity existing...Hint: He didn't get scored on in the Olympics. Lacking water near the mat, I think even Jesus would have gotten score on at least once.

Pish, been reading HR for years, you finally got me to post. I think you missed the point, and the point of these boards. I happen to be a PSU fan, and from Philly. You should hear sports talk radio in Philly sometime. Sixers, Eagles, Flyers, Phillies, and college sports. Insane people most of the time. Why do people care? Bunch of guys making millions, right, or just students, right? Well, they are our teams and our schools. No different in my mind than my wife loving the opera and orchestra, painful as that may be for me (since I have to go with her). We all have things we enjoy that make life better. For me it is sports, as it is for most on this and all boards.

In Iowa where you don’t have pro sports I can only imagine the Hawks are big. What is wrong with that? Your teams are college teams, so your players are…..students. That is why a teenager is being talked about. So are football recruits and others. That’s sports. What is the issue? As Chief mentioned, twitter is just life these days. Change is the norm. Personally, twitter just doesn’t do it for me so I let others search those things out, but it wasn’t about twitter, it was about the kid. I’d be willing to bet he doesn’t think it is a bad thing to be talked about.

I’ve been around a bit more than 46 years, and in my day all we had was evening news and newspapers and it could take weeks to find out simple things about your team (the things that go on behind the scenes). It was frustrating. Its great to be able to talk about our sports, find out info regularly (even if it turns out to be wrong), and to speculate. Sometimes that is half the fun. Poking fun at other teams, rubbing it in when it goes your way. Being a good loser (hopefully) when it doesn’t (unless it’s Dallas….no such thing as a poor loser in that case, anything goes). ;)

No one is messed up on this board. I read this board every day and have for a long time because of what I learn, for the jokes and fun, but also because of the quality of people. Reading normally is a positive. Maybe I missed it, but I don’t remember hearing one bad word about Teasdale in the whole thread even when it was speculated that he may have changed his mind. It was just hope he comes here, but wish him well, and whatever is best for him is what we want, etc. That is what impressed me about the thread. Got nothing negative from it. That and other situations over time tell me all I need to know about most of the people here. Otherwise, why were you and I even here reading about this?

I would just quote Aaron Rodgers, “relax”. No issue here. Enjoy the season, the ups and downs, goods and bads, the debates. While its great to look back on a championship, for me its all about the journey (though I have to admit I have really enjoyed the recent championships…. :) ). I also enjoy the banter between HR and BWI though I haven’t joined in. Makes most days more enjoyable.

Hope you can do the same. I’ll chalk yours up to a bad day. Look at it this way, at least you don’t have to root for the Sixers….

Gebmo. Well Done. Now, with that said, I don't think the Sixers are the problem, it's that you even follow basketball in the first place :)

Teasdale will start out at 33 and then go on to 141 probably.

Potential Lineup in :

Lee
Teasdale (True Freshman)
Murin/Happel
Turk/Glosser/Sasso (True Freshman)
Kemdawg
Marinelli
Young
Wilcke
Warner
Stoll

This right here is a killer team.

That is a rugged line up to be sure. The only thing that I think could change is Kemmerer ( Kemdawg for the Hawk faithful) at 149 and Marinelli at 157 and ? at 165.
