Yes; and CC's play in those games was not all that great. In case you've missed the dozen+ times I've posted that for you. You’ve mentioned the 2-9 start multiple times now.

Just keeps forgetting those pesky assists… those things that led to actual points….. who won that game?
Someone brought up the teams 2-9 record
As you pointed out, anyone can have a bad night. Anyone can have an off night shooting. The job of a point guard is to facilitate scoring, and Clark did exactly that.
The example referenced above which is relevant was the first 5 games. Those responding here know a lot more about her games this far and what the stats show. I’m sure we have watched all 26, the preseason, the all stars and at least a couple of seasons at Iowa. Her first 10-15 games were what she was judged on for a possible Team USA position.
They were not overly impressive compared to those who made the team.
Her last 6-10 games were substantially better. Again - if you review the stats, you'd see this.
A case could be made for her or Caitlin I suppose. Caitlin could have had more stars but voluntarily benched herself when the guard from Dallas (can’t remember her name) was en fuego.Reese had 12 points and 11 rebounds.
I honestly didn’t think JP would keep going this long. After DT went 0-for-Belgium and 0-for-Germany I figured even a troll like him would decide “yeah, okay, I kinda get it” and quietly move on.MAKE IT STOP
Just accept you'll never get the last word in and life is easier lolI honestly didn’t think JP would keep going this long. After DT went 0-for-Belgium and 0-for-Germany I figured even a troll like him would decide “yeah, okay, I kinda get it” and quietly move on.
But, credit to him, he instead he took a deep breath, rolled up his sleeves, and said “fvck it, I’m flyin’ all the way into the side of the mountain.”
I’m well aware that I won’t get the last word. I just kind of enjoy watching JP being an idiot.Just accept you'll never get the last word in and life is easier lol
Yet not all players that made the team were at the tryout. It’s either criteria or it isn’t. Heck a player didn’t even play before the selection. You certainly are ignoring it, as A reason she was not automatically on the team.
You may need to share the excuses I have used. You are either confusing me with another poster. I have been busy pointing out your errors in logic, fallacies and your wonderful ‘probably make the team’ comment after seeing ‘might be in consideration’I'm responding to idiots like you, posting more and more nonsensical "excuses" here.
Name calling….. for times where logic and facts aren’t on your sideI'm responding to idiots like you, posting more and more nonsensical "excuses" here.
All that talent, certainly other players had 10 assists as well…. Wait, they didn’t? But there was talent across the board. Everyone should have it.All that demonstrates is a lot of talent across the board.
And the player who won the game for Team WNBA was not CC.
You also justify ‘league average’ making the team. So it’s probably a good thing you aren’t on the committee. If I'm on the Committee, I'm taking the player w/ CC's stats off a team w/ a 9-2 record, before I'm considering one with the same numbers that is 2-9.
Unless I want players on the Olympic team used to losing games.
The example referenced above which is relevant was the first 5 games. Those responding here know a lot more about her games this far
Most either A) were or B) had prior international team experience.Yet not all players that made the team were at the tryout
This is how i know you don't watch the gamesThose games occurred after Team USA was selected.
You literally just posted "not all players attended tryouts".You may need to share the excuses I have used.
I watched the games. This is how i know you don't watch the games
She lead the league in minutes during those 11 games and averaged 15/5/5. Do you know how many players can say they reach those averages in a season this year? None.I watched the games.
When the Fever dropped to 2-9, it was pretty easy to see that poor defense and turnovers were major problems for them.
CC was not helping on either issue. And turnovers against France almost cost Team USA the game.
CC's early play did not establish "ball handling" and taking care of the ball as strengths. Also come on.. USA needed ballhandling and shooting more than anything
Jesus. LolCC's early play did not establish "ball handling" and taking care of the ball as strengths.
The claim that "her teammates hadn't adjusted to her play" would be the same issue getting pushed onto a team/group she had zero time playing with.
TOs nearly cost Team USA the gold medal.
One notable distinction is that she would have been passing the ball to the world’s greatest players, who have compiled a 60 game winning streak, rather than passing the ball to a group of teammates that finished with the 3rd worst record in the WNBA last year. The claim that "her teammates hadn't adjusted to her play" would be the same issue getting pushed onto a team/group she had zero time playing with.
Didn't seem to matter against France. One notable distinction is that she would have been passing the ball to the world’s greatest players
Right?Jesus.
The turnover argument is so incredibly stupidOne notable distinction is that she would have been passing the ball to the world’s greatest players, who have compiled a 60 game winning streak, rather than passing the ball to a group of teammates that finished with the 3rd worst record in the WNBA last year.
Ummm, okay? Good for you?I'm one of the ones commenting on how good her recent games have been.
Those games occurred after Team USA was selected.
So the tryout wasn’t a solid criteria? Most either A) were or B) had prior international team experience.
In fact, I think it's "All"
That was an excuse for? It was a statement of fact. You literally just posted "not all players attended tryouts".
Easy peasy
And yet someone with a ratio worse than hers made the team. The good news is she had zero turnovers in the gold medal game. Solid effort from her.Right?
I watched those early games, too, w/ a 1:1 Assist/TO ratio.
They were painful at times.
...who had WAY more experience. And yet someone with a ratio worse than hers made the team.
That certainly helped in the Gold Medal game. Zero turnovers, zero fouls....who had WAY more experience.
And comparable numbers at the cutoff.
You keep forgetting that we are discussing credentials BEFORE the Olympics (and Team selection cutoff). Not during. That certainly helped in the Gold Medal game.
And before the cutoff her assists/turnovers ratio was……. Not even close to the Joe declared 2:1 ratio. Heck according to Joe she was league average. Obviously her ‘experience’ didn’t help her improve through the process. You keep forgetting that we are discussing credentials BEFORE the Olympics (and Team selection cutoff). Not during.
LOL
And before the cutoff her assists/turnovers ratio was……. Not even close to the Joe declared 2:1 ratio.
