Given how quickly they traded for Espinal I think they knew it wasn’t going to be a test it for 2 weeks kind of injury.I don’t like the sound of this at all:
"Yesterday, Matt McLain had successful surgery to address cartilage damage and repair his labrum in his left shoulder," Reds president of baseball operations Nick Krall said. "An exact timeline is still TBD as it has a wide range of possibilities. We hope to have Matt back this season."
I'll take itI realize it’s still pretty early in the season and there will probably be a certain amount of regression to the mean. But Nick Martini is currently on pace to post 324 HR and 810 RBI this year.
Two very different home runs and also one from each side of the plate - the 450ft bomb was left handed and the IITP was right handed.Reds' Elly De La Cruz hits rare inside-the-park HR and 450-foot bomb
The slow start to Elly De La Cruz's 2024 season ended abruptly on Monday as the Cincinnati Reds infielder registered a pair of very different home runs: An inside-the-park job and a 450-foot bomb.www.dailymail.co.uk
He is so much fun to watch
Unless you or your team is playing against him 😎He is so much fun to watch
Does it count as a stolen base when you jog home after a mishandled throw down to third?
Nope. He gets credit for stealing third, but he advanced to home on an E2.Does it count as a stolen base when you jog home after a mishandled throw down to third?
He had another steal for the 3rd steal in the game it wasn't shown in the video. That play was a steal of third and an error allowing him to go home.Does it count as a stolen base when you jog home after a mishandled throw down to third?
That’s why I didn’t keep the book. Iffy skills. He had another steal for the 3rd steal in the game it wasn't shown in the video. That play was a steal of third and an error allowing him to go home.
I coached little league for several years and always tried to farm out to someone else to do the books but most people had no clue how to do it so I ended up having to do it myself which was annoying while you are also trying to coach the game. You aren't alone in not having the skills for it.That’s why I didn’t keep the book. Iffy skills.
Well, I did keep the book sometimes, but I might have been a little generous sometimes when in doubt.I coached little league for several years and always tried to farm out to someone else to do the books but most people had no clue how to do it so I ended up having to do it myself which was annoying while you are also trying to coach the game. Eh I don't mind that so much if it's ever close I would always give the benefit of the doubt as well.Well, I did keep the book sometimes, but I might have been a little generous sometimes when in doubt.
They are sucking hard right now. On an 8 game losing steak and have the worst batting average in all of batting as a team. Elly is about the only bright spot right now.

Yeah, but not for long if they don’t get their shit together soon.Still ahead of the Cardinals.
Stolen bases give me wood. I assume the league will make adjustments, but he should steal 100 barring an injury.
Same here I miss the days of Ricky Henderson and Vince ColemanStolen bases give me wood. I assume the league will make adjustments, but he should steal 100 barring an injury.
I’m so happy to see the stolen base return to baseball.
I'm sure most on this board disagree but nice to get the first one in the win column for the good guys.
As a Reds fan I have to enjoy watching Elly now because Scott Boras has already made it clear that he’s not going to sign long-term with Cincy.I’ve been disappointed too many times by young guys with so much talent. Not because what they do on the field either. I’m cautiously optimistic but assume he’s a good dude. I might instill a mandatory 6 year clock before raving about a player so as to not end up with pie in my face, but I’m rooting for just awesome individual baseball that builds teams.
At some point Boras should deactivate all but one line and send his clients to anyone he’s trained or something. Dude must always be on the phoneAs a Reds fan I have to enjoy watching Elly now because Scott Boras has already made it clear that he’s not going to sign long-term with Cincy.
