The Elon Musk Twitter shitshow

The algorithm set up by former management allows bot campaigns to mute/block targeted accounts which lowers their visibility and reach. His quest for paid verification is in part to combat the ability for bad actors to do this. These people are seeing the effects and drawing erroneous conclusions as to the cause. Just part of an ongoing smear campaign against Twitter and Musk in particular. Media outlets hate the competition.

Coronavirus lab leak was a conspiracy theory. Now the government concludes it was the most likely cause of coronavirus outbreak. Whoops.

Guy who burned 22 billion, is running an operation that is down 89% in ad revenue, and posted a conspiracy tweet about Paul Pelosi, that he has never removed or apologized for, has some thoughts on the truth?

Now that is some funny shit.

Where are you getting 89% from?

40% YOY decline in December 2022

11% YOY 2022 vs 2021
  • Twitter generated $4.4 billion revenue in 2022, an 11% decline year-on-year

The prior management worked pretty hard to eliminate bots.

Musk fired most all of those people. Then allowed anyone with $8 to get a "verified" account, which led to fake tweets like "Eli Lilly giving away insulin" that tanked their stock price. That simply did not happen before Musk.

Lol is he apologizing to Juanita Broderick? Are apologies directed towards the person you're apologizing to? Also, you're the one that gets all bent out of shape any time there is even an ounce of criticism towards your hero Elon

No. He is clearly referring to what he did.

The obvious inference is “Nonetheless, I apologize.” (to Paul Pelosi) or (for what I said to Paul Pelosi)

Yes he should have tagged him or directed it more specifically to him, but the follow up tweet removes all ambiguity.

I suggest you all do the same.

I really hate the Twitter Bernie Left. They can pound sand.

Or maybe shouldn't have thrown in the "nonetheless" qualifier, which implies he doesn't really accept any responsibility here.

You are welcome to your interpretation. I read it as “Nonetheless (to Juanita’s comments), I apologize.”

meaning

(whether the left wants me to apologize) and (whether it was a weird situation) doesn’t matter, I apologize.

The video that was released clarified the situation and he realized he was wrong for that comment and he apologized.

Did Twitter wish to be taken over initially?

Do hostile takeovers usually end with a fair price being paid by the hostile takeover party?

Do people or companies buy other companies for current value or current value plus future consideration value also?

4 months ago, I thought Twitter was worth possibly $5B-$10B.
