What the hell r u smoking? It's possible. One thing we do know is Ferentz and Fitz won't do it.
You need to take your badger glasses off as Hawkeyes will beat Wisky next season in Kinnick. Iowa coaching is just fine, thank you.I’m a Wisconsin fan. After reading this conversation;
1. Wisconsin is not elite. We are on the doorstep of being elite, but until we make the playoffs a few times, we are not elite. Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, Clemson, and Ohio State are the schools who can currently claim to be elite. Notre Dame, Penn State, Florida State, Michigan, USC, Auburn, and LSU probably make up the next tier of programs who can be elite. Texas, Miami, Florida, UCLA and Texas A&M are formerly elite programs with the potential to be elite again. Wisconsin is Stanford. Better than most of those programs when they are average or down, but not when they are good.
2. We may have a better team next year, but have a worse record. Our offense is going to be flat out good. Our WR’s are young and getting better. Add an off-season and get Cephus back, and we’ll be loaded. Our offensive line will return probably everyone, so should be better. We’ll have a drop off at TE and FB, but we should be good. As long as Hornibrook doesn’t take a few steps backward, we’ll be really good. We lose guys on defense, but have depth and playmakers behind the guys we lose. CB will be our biggest question mark.
3. We probably won’t be elite again next year.
4. I think Nebraska with Scott Frost has the potential to be the class of the West in 2 years.
5. Stanley is better than Hornibrook. We wish we were able to flip him.
6. Alvarez wins. He knows nothing about hockey, but has turned out hockey program around. He knows a lot about football. I can’t imagine mediocrity will be tolerated.
7. Wisconsin does have an advantage over Iowa. Wisconsin has a bunch of D3 schools who compete for the d3 championship every year. UW Whitewater is an elite d3 program. There are a ton of underrated kids in Wisconsin. Every year we have 2-3 kids who walked on because no one else wanted them who become stars for us. Next year Ryan Connelly might get All American consideration.
8. It might be time for Iowa to change coaches. Just saying, maybe time for a change. Honestly, we were pissed when Bielema left. But even Gary Anderson (a bad hire) brought Dave Aranda and the 3-4 defense. Now, we wouldn’t take Bielema as a linebacker coach. Sometimes change is good.
9. I don’t think Wisconsin will fear Iowa under the current regime. You guys just seem to be built to win 8 games a year and dumb luck your way to really good seasons every so often.
10. Your basketball program is heading in the right direction while ours might be falling by the wayside. This year’s team wasn’t very good before we lost 2 guys to injury. And our recruiting has fallen apart this year.
The biggest problem is that Wisconsin can recruit quality WRs (plural)! We can't.
Hope yall just watched the Peach Bowl...Buckle up #Gbr
Lol, we played and lost to North Dakota ONE time. GTFO with this shit. What is the population of North Dakota genius?
The problem isn’t grades , it’s coursework, Wisconsin demands two years of foreign language along with the extra math course, that’s major for a lot of sub 4.5 types.LOL
In my defense, I never said anything about the Wisconsin vs Iowa game next year. I said Wisconsin could “Have a better team next year but have a worse record.” Which was insinuating that we’d have a tougher schedule (a road game in Iowa being one of the tougher games) next year and lose some of those games. You need to take your badger glasses off as Hawkeyes will beat Wisky next season in Kinnick. And I’m glad you are happy with your coaching staff. In the end that is the most important thing. But I was trying to give an outsider view as objectively as I could of your program. Your coach is by no means doing a bad job. But the game is changing, and your coaches do not appear to be adapting to those changes.
Every time I hear an announcer call Wisconsin a “Throwback team,” I cringe. But Wisconsin’s defense is thoroughly modern. If We still had Brett Bielema at coach, we would still be in the dark ages on defense, too. I was shocked when Bielema left. I would have been happy if he stayed at Wisconsin for 40 years. But now that he’s gone, I wouldn’t take him back if we had the chance. I believe we are in a much better situation now with the coaches we have than we would have been if Bielema was still here.
My point is that coaching changes can revitalize a program. Iowa seems to be stagnating. Maybe some changes would have some positive affects in Iowa, too.
Appreciate your outsider's take on Iowa's head coach, but actually Ferentz has added some new blood to the staff past few years (i.e., wide receivers and o-line coaches) that are positive changes on both a scheme and the recruiting front. Regarding Bielema, I'm not surprised you are happy that he's no longer the Wisky coach. Iowa was happy to get rid of him too. Comparing "no class" Bielema to classy Ferentz is a joke.In my defense, I never said anything about the Wisconsin vs Iowa game next year. That ain't your team, sparky. Your team was home for the holidays after getting piss pounded for the second straight year by the Hawkeyes.Hope yall just watched the Peach Bowl...Buckle up #Gbr
Lol, Hans, you need to take a deep breath. Relax. I can see you just want to fight. But...I did not compare the class level of Ferenz to the class level of Bielema. No one in Wisconsin ever thought Bielema even had any class. We knew all about his “open secret” drunk escapades. But he won football games, so we let a lot slide.Appreciate your outsider's take on Iowa's head coach, but actually Ferentz has added some new blood to the staff past few years (i.e., wide receivers and o-line coaches) that are positive changes on both a scheme and the recruiting front. Woooweee u getting triggered a lil too easily bud lol. Sounds like a lil bit of insecurity, Hahaha. We're coming for ya , enjoy it while it lasted lol. Grats on the wins thoThat ain't your team, sparky. Your team was home for the holidays after getting piss pounded for the second straight year by the Hawkeyes.
Your fan base and your media following Frost around like a lap dog and basking in the success of kids who don't give a sh*t about Nebraska is pathetic and disturbing. The fact that Nebraska flew out media to Atlanta to cover two teams they are not affiliated with is desperate and scary.
Keep firing coaches and wishing for past glory with the next... maybe Peter Pan can take you back to the 90's.
But, as Grampy always said...
