They'll Never Be Satisfied

They complain when people get shot. They complain when they don't get shot.

How about just doing what you're told. How about that? Just do what the cops tell you. Why is that so hard?

If there is one constant truth on HROT, it's that @stanzithemanzi12 is always on the wrong side of every issue.

BAU.

No. Damned only if you don't comply. Comply and you're not damned.
My question wasn't answered. What about the fact there have been occasions in which people (criminals) have posed as police officers. Again, this was at night, he's a minority with likely some trepidation about law enforcement officers. So, he drives slowly to a well-lit gas station and was being cooperative while the cops went SWAT on him. He apparently had the right to be afraid of them -- as the one officer was caught saying as it turns out.

You really think driving 18 mph is eluding police - it is hard to see on the camera if there would have been a better place to pull off, the police haven't given that information and told him he was smart in what he was doing but go ahead - continue to claim he was allud

The sad part is there will be people who watch this video, and they'll still think the cops were totally in the wrong.

Fine, drove to well-lit area. You're little alibi for that move might be warranted, but he wasn't being cooperative. Never was cooperative. He knew exactly what he was doing. I wish the cops would have given him a few batons for good measure.

He should lose his rank in the military too for acting like this.

The temporary tag was in plain sight. The cops were incorrect no matter how you slice it.

It doesn't matter if the cops were incorrect on the tags. That is besides the point. It doesn't matter. Get it through your thick skull. If a cop tells you to do something, you do it. You can argue about it after the fact or file a complaint. But when cops are telling you do get out of the car. You don't ask questions. You do it.

True freaking story. About 10 years ago I was driving my (recently) deceased mothers car. I used it to get her places she needed to go. No issues though as she didn't ever learn to drive, but still didn't want her kids to use their gas to take her places. Being the youngest I was the designated driver. I loved doing that for her as we had the BEST mother ever. Anyway, I was in this car heading to a meeting with a client. I was on the phone with my wife when I had an officer pass by me and do a U turn and switch on his lights.

Now, I had just come from playing tennis over noon. When he came up to my window I instantly realized that I had just played a match with this guy. I was laughing as I told him that all we needed was a place to continue our match. He was NOT amused and was extremely terse the rest of the event. I honestly thought he was joking at first until he I saw another squad car show up. Now, I knew a lot of the guys on the force and they were all good dudes....but he was new and I didn't even realize he was a cop before this. The other guy who showed up was one of the few I didn't really know

I complied with everything that was asked of me, never raised my voice, got out of the car when instructed and ended up being handcuffed and taken to the station. I was politly asking the whole time "what was I being arrested for?" And all he would say is "Don't act like you don't know!" Well, when I got to the station, the booking agent laughed and told him that there was NO WAY I could be arrested for anything....the cop and the booking agent got into a huge fight and in the end I was booked. After a while I was bailed out. I went right to my lawyer and was told I did the right thing. This IDIOT arrested me because some guy with the same first name and same last name (I have a VERY common name), lived (at one point) on the same road as me (which is 25 miles long), did NOT have the same middle name, nor did the the SS# match. and, oh by the way...he was 30+ older then me!!! Literally, a grade schooler could have realised that I was not the guy he thought I was. Point being, I did have some embarasment with the local community until the truth came out....but I weathered it. The guy got fired and my record was expunged and all fees were paid for me. So, as bad as it can be....just FREAKING DO WHAT THEY SAY and you will get done what needs done....and you will live.

Side note, 3 weeks ago this guy (who I didn't recognize) comes over and says he is the guy who recklessly arrested me many years ago. I said "No worries.....I am sure you learned a hard lesson." He sure did!!

Why won't you just admit the cops were wrong to do what they did?

So if a cop tells you to suck his cock, you will do it?

Here are some police training videos on high risk stops so people can understand why the officers did what they did. Again, eluding police will often end up as a high risk stop. It helps if the public has some understanding of police procedure.

Any time someone is being stopped and they then resist it shifts instantly to a high risk situation, even if the base offense is minor. The video linked is but one example of a garden variety stop that then turned very dangerous and even deadly for the officer(s).
