Honestly not going to be near as long as that game was brutal to watch.

Offense couldn’t seem to ever really get going and when they did they turned it over. Dropped passes, missed throws and bad blocking.

½ of our 1st half possessions started at our 10 or less.

½ of Sparty’s 1st half possessions started in our territory.

We broke both our tendencies in the 1st drive. 1st play of the game Nate is calling an audible and it’s a pass. Then after the incompletion, instead of running we threw it.

Iowa average3rd down was 3rd and 8. Really ugly stat at the very end of all this on 3rd down.

Hesse’s roughing penalty was a game changer. Would have set up 3rd and 19 on their 2nd TD drive. Obviously the two turnovers at the Sparty 30 and 5 were tough as well. We tackled much better today but then again Barkley wasn’t on the field.

1st quarter
10:00 Wadley picks up the blitz but Nate steps right into where he is blocking.

9:30 Their guard has Matt Nelson’s facemask

5:31 A sparty player is holding bower with his left arm, Bower breaks free and the guy grabs bower with his right arm. Held twice on the same play by the same guy.

4:32 AJ gets sucked in but still makes the tackle 7 yards down field. Great hit by Hooker here.

2:11 Kickoff, Amani Jones with a pancake block

:10 Fant catches a 1st down but looks like he’s running with a bad quadracep or something.

2nd quarter
12:17 Wadley’s TD run, Jackson and Render with really great blocks on this play

Kickoff after the TD, I’ve always thought when kicking off from the 50 it would be a good time to pooch kick or do an onside kick.

4:21 3rd and long and you can see their LB calling the run play. We tried a draw to Wadley and it got stuffed

:43 Nice hands by Amani Jones. He continues to be impressive on special teams.

Next play, Obviously we are going to go and try to score before half, but Wadley whiffs on the blitz pick up.

3rd quarter
13:50 Boone Pancakes a DT

13:10 Boone gets beat and on the replay you can see he’s barely putting pressure on his ankle while he is blocking. In fact, he was replaced by Reynolds after this play.

12:25 Nate can make that throw as he dropped it in right in Easley’s bucket. Also did that without much time left on the play clock.

9:50 I think Nate was trying to throw it back across to Vandeberg. He wasn’t going to make it running as 3 spartys were there waiting on him as he ran towards the goal line.

7:40 Josey chases down the WR on the reverse and pushes him into an OL, knocking them both off their feet.

5:16 4th and 1, we get a stop. Made possibly by Brady Reiff, he gets penetration and takes their centers legs out collapsing the whole thing.

4th quarter
10:58 The Sparty DT jumps offsides before the snap. Would have set up 2nd and 7 vice 3rd and 12.

9:17 Nate had Fant in the middle open. Well actually he had Nick as well he just under threw him.

3:40 Hesse with a great play on the reverse. In fact ¾ of our DL was in on that stop. Our Run defense all day was the bright spot

1:11 I have no problem with Jackson going back to return this from the endzone. I believe full well he was told to go try and make a play. We almost blocked that punt oh by the way.
