This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

By the way it looks like I was right about the video. Many replies to the tweet pointed out that the video was from
an earlier date and must have been posted to make the 11/22 crowd look bigger than actual.
What's your criteria for believing Twitter posts? If you agree they're true, if you dont, you're skeptical? Who's to say the replies saying the videos are old are credible? Very well could just be people like you who are upset with the results this far. Certainly a lot more videos showing grateful and celebratory citizens, yea?

Even if there are not that many people celebrating in Kherson, we have to remember Russia tried to empty the city ahead of it falling. Not to mention many may be afraid of snipers as supposedly many Russians stayed behind in civilian clothes. (SIAP)

I suppose when bodies are observed.

Maybe this is part of the total. They're hauling away dead orcs by the truckload.
Not sure how many are in a truckload. I'm guessing a few.

I agree with most of that, but, I don't think the author captures the scope of just how big of a f****** deal it was for Putin to order a retreat. He cannot hide what is happening in Ukraine anymore. They are losing. And, to the point that this may give the Russians time to reconstitute their forces, well, into what? The entire system is corrupt and ineffective. By now and Spring they are going to rearm with modern weapons and train up 300,000 crack troops?
The biggest hope for Putin is weak willed Western politicians, at best, and Russian stooges at worst.

Yup, a retreat is not a ceasefire. Some of the most decisive victories in the US Civil War were the result of routing retreating armies. Strike while the iron is hot and your adversary is disorganized and falling back.

And some of the most decisive victories in the history have resulted from feigned retreats as well. War is hell.

Heck, the British would’ve likely won the American Revolution if British sharpshooter Patrick Ferguson had shot George Washington in the back instead of waiting for him to turn around (which he never did).
