From what I can see, NATO has 70 Soviet made warplanes that Ukraine also operates. About 55 Mig 29s (air superiority fighter-bombers), and 18 Su 25s ground attack jets similar to the A-10's role. Ukrainian pilots would know flying them well, but most have been significantly upgraded with Western avionics and weapons, so much more potent, but some learning curve.
I could definitely see Poland getting involved in this, both sending "volunteer" troops and pilots flying their re-flagged warplanes, especially with Belarus getting more involved.

If so, it's a very strange world war. So far it's the entire world against Russia and Belarus. Not certain those are good odds.

I think we’re teetering on the edge. China is the wildcard. If China chokes off Russia, no WW3. But if China backs Russia, it’s game on.
That and the Russian military has proven to be inadequate. They could nuke everything but that's about it.
