This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

Go NATO!

"Meanwhile in Latvia. The war machine is gaining momentum and must stop before it's too late! The globalists' war card has been played. The Cabinet should be ashamed!!"

Russia is basically going to just throw by bodies at this until they win or lose. I heard a Russian say that he thinks the tipping point for Russia is 500,000 men, which is insane.
It may come fast the way things are going due to lack of training and weapons. I still pray a mass surrender is end game. The biggest issue Russia faced BEFORE this war was massive population decline. This war is going to undo the country.

Pretty good article about the M1 Abrams and why it's still a very formidable MBT.

Urban fighting modifications from lessons learned in Iraq is pretty interesting...

Ukraine won't get these for a while but they're pretty important for Ukraines future if they get them in numbers IMO.

That is interesting. The US is building versions without the secret armor and other technologies so it may be over a year before any get to Ukraine. (We have around 5,000-do we really not already have older ones that are basic enough to send.)

I was wondering that as well. I'd think we have have a bunch of M1's in "war reserve" that we could probably spare. Haven't really dug up anything on that end though...

Maybe we keep updating the old stuff so well we don't really have any "dumb" enough to send:) To be fair, the Leopards are supposed to be closer to what they need anyway. And I hope the West sends some running models quickly. As far as we know Canada has the only Leopard already in country though I suspect Poland will get them there as quickly as they can train the crews.

I've heard some people suggest that moving some of our old equipment would benefit the US. Basically we have stuff we don't really want maintain and that this would actually be a way to get rid of it.

All our reserves are under legal export restrictions because they have the top secret depleted uranium armor. So while it would be ideal immediately send some of the 3000 Abrams in our reserve, we can only send the export version, and since Poland and others have already ordered hundreds of those, it will take awhile to get them built and sent over.

I agree though the Leopard 2's diesel engine and other simpler systems are better suited to Ukraine's needs and maintenance ability.
