Russian propaganda is frighteningly effective. The brainwashing of these people is more than complete. Though our lemmings are nowhere near this bad, I now understand why many Americans are the way they are.
Russian and Ukrainian forces are fighting in the streets of Bakhmut - but Russia does not control the eastern city, its deputy mayor has said.
Oleksandr Marchenko also told the BBC the remaining 4,000 civilians are living in shelters without access to gas, electricity or water.
Mr Marchenko said "not a single building" had remained untouched and that the city is "almost destroyed".

Ukraine has been allegedly on the cusp of losing Bakhmut for 2 weeks now even though Russia would have to advance about 6 miles in order to make that happen. iirc Ukraine has been killing Russians at a rate of 7:1 in Bakhmut during that timespan
Amazingly similar to the GOP strategies on things like "election security"...

I think I saw a Ukrainian commander make that claim a couple of days ago FWIW.
Earlier story talked about two explosions so maybe this is different base or later attack-I hope.

Story from AP about a Ukrainian steel manufacturer putting their workers, and some Soviet era blueprints, to use by building shelters for front line soldiers. The shelters use 2 tons of steel and once buried provide a fairly comfortable place for 6 soldiers to sleep, safe from shells up to 152 mm.

I actually wish everything they said the UK is doing was true! Probably ain’t though.
If we’re keeping it a hundred, the British are really good at sabotage and working with underground groups.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they trained the people doing this.
Ukraine is running low on ammo. Europe faces pressure to produce more.
