You have to wonder what that’s going to do for Russia’s economy - 400,000 working age (they’ll be working age, right Nat?) men leaving their jobs to head to the front.
I will say though, that 400,000 men in the meat grinder in Ukraine keeps them away from Red Square….

I agree with the statement but only because we put ourselves in the position we are to help others. I'm sure we will be looked at as the bad guy by a few and overbearing by many others but that's what happens when you are in this spot.
I think isolationism, to a large degree, was fine during our early years.
Russia is bad. They are terrorizing citizens. They are causing war crimes. The only reason we haven't fully committed to this is almost 6k nukes are in their control. Mutually Assured Destruction. That and China who we let become bad.

This is why Russia can still recruit into their military. Now, some of those buildings are leftover from the Soviet era, and unused, but this is the crushing poverty and despair you see all over Russia. What’s a guy got to lose if he leaves that dog pile for the army under the promise of good food, a sign on bonus and the chance to see something new? Those guys have no idea what’s going on in Ukraine, or that they’ll be eating garbage because some corrupt officer pocketed some money off of the food contract.
While Putin may be the richest man in the world worth 200 BILLION.
