This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

Slovakia is in a transition period after the ruling coalition fell out of favor and lost a no confidence vote. From what I have read their law says only a legitimate, ruling government can authorize weapons transfers.
Poland, I don't know what the hold up is. They've been front and center since the start. It's weird that they are holding back. Maybe they still want more NATO jets moved forward?
No idea...but it's not like the Poles are relying on their MIG-29's....

Just seems NATO/US is reluctant to provide Ukraine with air assets.

I know we forward deployed some fighters from the UK to Poland and Romania. Maybe some others from Europe. Are we to the point where we’d have to move some assets from stateside? We have fighters in the UK, Germany, and Italy on a full time basis? Have we moved all we can from those countries while still meeting our obligations to the host countries?
Moving stuff from stateside might be an optic the Biden Administration is leery of? We’ve rotated troops to train with NATO forces, but we were pretty much doing that before.

I think in combination with the rest of NATO we have plenty air assets to deal with Russia....can be ramped up rather quickly if need be.

I don't think this plays a part in the apparent slow roll of those MIG-29's.

I wish the Dems would stop making this political...

Exactly.

Tucker doesn't want to fund Ukraine so he'd LOVE for this to become a Team Red and Team Blue thing....LOVE IT.

Wrong thread, Bro.
I’m not pure, but let’s leave this one in the thread to it.

How does Russian $$ going to US political candidates not apply to a thread people are supporting Ukraine in?

If you ignore this threat from Putin/Russia in infiltrating our politics, you're basically aiding Putin.

Just to be clear, "our armed forces" is not the POTUS, the SoD or the Joint Chiefs. Our armed forces are not our policy. Our armed forces are supported by nearly everyone when they are in action. Which they are not at this point.
The Armed Forces who want to spend a small part of their budget to weaken one of our biggest adversaries and lose no people. You can also add our military industrial complex to that. Lockheed, Boeing, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, etc are loving the business. Lots of contracts and lots of jobs.

"The AMX-10RC is armed with a 105 mm F2 rifled gun as its primary armament, capable of firing Armor-Piercing (AP) and High-Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT) rounds. While this weapon was considered potent when the vehicle was first introduced in the early 1980s, advancements in modern tank armor have diminished its effectiveness against contemporary main battle tanks (MBTs).

The AMX-10RC is not designed to engage main battle tanks (MBTs) directly, its firepower can still pose a threat to older or less advanced tanks, such as the Soviet-era T-72 and T-80. Depending on the specific variant and armor configuration of the T-72 and T-80, the 105 mm F2 gun might be able to penetrate the tanks' side or rear armor, especially when firing AP rounds. However, penetrating the frontal armor would be more challenging due to its increased thickness and the use of composite materials.

The AMX-10RC to fire HEAT rounds can also be an advantage against the T-72 and T-80, as these rounds can inflict damage through their shaped-charge effect, regardless of the armor thickness. However, the effectiveness of HEAT rounds can be reduced by reactive armor or other countermeasures, which are present on some variants of the T-72 and T-80.

The AMX-10RC's fire control system, which includes a laser rangefinder, day/night optics, and a ballistic computer, can help improve the accuracy of the 105 mm gun. Engaging the T-72 or T-80 from longer ranges or exploiting their weaker armor areas could improve the chances of a successful penetration. Due to its role as a reconnaissance and fire support vehicle, the AMX-10RC should avoid direct engagements with enemy MBTs "whenever possible. Instead, it can use its mobility and flexibility to support friendly forces, provide intelligence, and exploit enemy weaknesses. In a tactical situation where the AMX-10RC has the element of surprise or can engage the T-72 or T-80 from their weaker flanks, it may have a better chance of success.

In conclusion, while the AMX-10RC's armament is not optimized for engaging modern MBTs, it may still pose a threat to older or less advanced tanks like the T-72 and T-80, especially when exploiting their vulnerabilities or engaging from advantageous positions. However, the primary role of the AMX-10RC is reconnaissance and fire support, and it should avoid direct engagements with enemy tanks whenever possible."

Had to post this because we bad…
Is that Ron DeSantis on the left?

I think Europe is more itchy than USA. They don't want to see a maniac on their eastern front. I don't blame them
Well yeah, and NATO countries make up a majority of NATO member states. I agree the U.S., as the lead country in the alliance, is more hesitant than some of the newer members. But I still think Russia better be careful about how much they want to FAFO.

Yeah, he's a moron. He's not good for anyone in the US at all. I know you don't want to believe it but there are Republicans that do not support the drool coming out of guys like him. He needs to be tried for treason.

In general, the Dems are nothing but a bunch of blowhards as well. Our political parties suck and are making Americans hate each other.

But this is about Ukraine. We need more accountability as to where all this money is directly going but I would much, much rather my tax money help eliminate threats posed by captain piss pants and his nuclear arsenal while providing freedom to eastern Europe.
