This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

Beat me to this bit of good news, however the Slovakian jets were all grounded last year due to a lack of parts and experienced technicians once the Russkies went home. So, Ukraine is basically getting these for spare parts? The Polish jets are all airworthy. Good news all around even if all of the Slovakian jets cannot be made airworthy.
No idea on that level of detail. Hopefully the Ukrainian mechanics can get them humming again.

As you speculated. Since they were just grounded last year I bet it won't take long to get them back in the air.

"March 17 (Reuters) - Slovakia on Friday became the second of Ukraine's allies to provide MIG-29 fighter jets which Kyiv believes are crucial to repel Russia's year-long invasion.

Slovakia joined Poland, which announced its delivery of the planes on Thursday. Both the NATO members neighbour Ukraine.

Its fleet of 11 MiG-29 planes was retired last summer and most of them are not in operational condition. It will send those that are operational and the rest will go for spare parts."

I think the majority will be "boneyard" types...stripped for spare parts. I'm pretty confident the Ukrainians will get a few airworthy though.

Just stripping them for parts held the Ukrainians out...

Hopefully they have a few engine spares as well...

Hmmm…..wonder if Hitler communicated the Blitzkrieg or his invasion plans. Seems like a smart diplomatic and strategic move to let the people you are invading know when you will invade.
Hmmm, yeah everybody kind of knew, everybody just kind of ignored all the signs

AMSTERDAM, March 17 (Reuters) - The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant on Friday against Russian President Vladimir Putin, accusing him of being responsible for war crimes committed in Ukraine.

Moscow has repeatedly denied accusations that its forces have committed atrocities during its one-year invasion of its neighbour.

The ICC issued the warrant for Putin's arrest on suspicion of unlawful deportation of children and unlawful transfer of people from the territory of Ukraine to the Russian Federation.

Earlier this week Reuters reported that the court was expected to issue warrants, the first in its investigation into the Ukraine conflict.

Separately the court issued warrants for Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova, Russia's Commissioner for Children’s Rights, on the same charges."

Putin is going to fight to the death now.

Putin is going to fight to the death now.
Yeah, but he had to anyway to survive his disastrous decision to invade Ukraine.
Doubt it will make a difference but hope China reconsiders deepening their relationship with Putin. Though it is probably more about distracting the West while they think about attacking Taiwan and starting WW3.
