This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

March 20 (Reuters) - Chinese President Xi Jinping flew into Moscow on Monday where he was expected to press Beijing's role as a potential peacemaker in the Ukraine war while Russian President Vladimir Putin hoped for support against Western pressure.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday welcomed China's willingness to play a "constructive role" in ending the war in Ukraine, saying relations between Moscow and Beijing were "at the highest point."

In an article released on the eve of a visit to Moscow by his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, Putin said Russia had high hopes for the visit by his "good old friend."

The three-day trip, which begins Monday, is the Chinese leader's first to Russia since Putin launched his invasion of Ukraine in February last year.

China has publicly remained neutral over the conflict while criticizing Western sanctions against Russia and reaffirming its close ties with Moscow.

Beijing said Xi is hoping to deliver a breakthrough on Ukraine as it seeks to position itself as a peacemaker.

Amazing if true. I saw that Yahoo and Newsweek also reported this.

The average life expectancy for a soldier fighting on the front lines in the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut is just four hours, according to an American who is fighting against Russian forces in the Donbas.

Former US Marine Troy Offenbecker detailed the intense fighting, some of the deadliest since Russia launched its invasion a year ago, in an interview with ABC News.

His quote says "a soldier" on the front lines, not a Ukrainian.

So, I suspect he's referring to either side here. And the majority of the casualties are Russians.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but the Russian losses look astronomic.

The US/NATO need to grow support even more as you can sense the desperation from Russia.

Meanwhile, more dead orcs please!
The losses of people mean nothing to Russia. Compared to 26 million, this is a drop in the bucket. Equipment means more to them than the people. They can always get more people.

New "old news"-Macedonia did the aircraft last year. The helicopters may be going now but Macedonia like some other countries does not telegraph what it is going to do.

"North Macedonia has donated Sukhoi Su-25 ‘Frogfoot' ground attack aircraft to Ukraine, Minister of Defence of North Macedonia, Slavjanka Petrovska said on 14 March. The announcement confirms Janes reports in July 2022 that four non-airworthy Su-25s (three single-seat Su-25s and one twin-seat Su-25UB) were transferred.

Petrovska said that equipment delivered to Ukraine so far consists of “infantry weapons and ammunition, artillery equipment, MBTs [main battle tanks], Sukhoi aircraft, anti-armour and anti-aircraft weapon systems, and equipment and ammunition for use by the military aviation”.

A new package of military aid intended to support Ukraine was approved at a government session held in Skopje on 14 March, Petrovska said, but she refused to provide details on the type or quantity of equipment. Petrovska did note that the donations made so far were not part of the formation of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia (ARSM).

On 15 March, North Macedonian media outlets quoted government sources as saying that Ukraine has requested attack helicopters, and the possibility of the transfer of 12 Mi-24 ‘Hind' aircraft is being assessed."

KYIV, March 20 (Reuters) - Ukraine said on Monday the eastern town of Avdiivka could soon become a "second Bakhmut", a small city where its forces have held out against Russian invaders for eight months but risk being fully encircled.

The battle for Bakhmut in the industrial Donbas has been one of the fiercest of the nearly 13-month-old war in Ukraine, drawing comparisons with World War One trench warfare.

The commander of Ukraine's ground forces said last week Moscow's forces were now trying to fully encircle Bakhmut in an offensive that has made no major breakthroughs.

25 mm ammo for the Bradleys, hopefully.
We need to up the range of the rockets we are sending. Giving the Ukrainians the ability to strike 150+ miles behind the front lines would have a huge impact. We don't need to give them cruise missiles, but we have rockets that could consistently hit deep behind lines, and into Crimea.

More details out now - you will be happy. ( I am sure there is more going on we don't know about.)
I also note more river equipment.

"Today, pursuant to a delegation of authority from President Biden, I am authorizing our 34thdrawdown of U.S. arms and equipment for Ukraine valued at $350 million. This military assistance package includes more ammunition for U.S.-provided HIMARS and howitzers that Ukraine is usingto defend itself, as well as ammunition for Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles, HARM missiles, anti-tank weapons, riverine boats, and other equipment.

We applaud the more than 50 countries that have come together to provide support for Ukraine asit defends its sovereignty and territorial integrity."

It appears the West is really trying to get the promised equipment there quickly now.

"What is the difference between German Marder and Bradley?

Image result for german marder

The Bradley has a 25mm M242 chain gun and can launch TOW anti-tank guided missiles, while the Marder has an unstabilized 20mm cannon and can engage heavier armored vehicles and tanks with a mounted MILAN anti-tank guided missile launcher."

The US and NATO need to move quicker imo before support wanes due to financial instability in the US and NATO countries. I don’t know how long this can keep up with inflation going the way it is in some western countries before people start saying enough is enough for these two sides to do a rerun of WWI
