Yep, I love to see the MLRS, artillery, and tank losses, as those are some of the primary ways that civilian areas are attacked. Only things that make me happier to see destroyed are aircraft, missile and other ammo stocks, and OFFICERS.9 MLRS
Gotta say with some of the video of drones dropping munitions in the trenches, the "immediate kill" factor doesn't seem very high.

Concussed and shredded, just like a deer that doesn’t immediately go down they can move on a burst of adrenaline and survival instincts for a little bit. I’ve seen some (what appear to be) instant deaths due to the shock wave. I’m guessing the shrapnel from the small grenades is probably like BBs. So they do plenty of damage but not enough to cause instant death of the soldier.
Keep in mind that shrapnel should behave much like light intensity over distances. The further away you are from the source, the lower probability you have to be hit. For light the intensity drops at a rate of 1 / the square of the distance because of the way that photons disperse. Probability of getting hit by shrapnel should behave the same way. The numbers below don’t show probability, they show proportional probability. Meaning at 5 feet you have a 4x higher chance of getting hit than at 10 feet and 9x higher chance than at 15 feet.

It is a horrible thing. But if there is one thing that we’ve learned throughout history, the only way to truly conquer when invading is to eliminate all semblance of the original culture if they don’t willingly give up. That‘s what made the mongols so effective. When they invaded they gave the defenders a choice, keep your culture and lives but pledge fealty to the Mongols, or be completely wiped from the face of the earth.
