This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

"The transfer of a division of Bal coastal missile systems to Bryansk Oblast in Russia by the Russians is a sign of a deficit in missile armament in Russia. The Ukrainian forces will respond accordingly to the new threats.

Quote: "There was information about the transfer of one division of the Bal coastal missile systems to Bryansk Oblast in Russia. The missiles these systems are equipped with are modernised,Kh-35U, and according to the characteristics provided by the Russians, they have an increased range.

The Russians claim that these missiles have a 500-km range, but I still think this is an overestimation. We cannot say for sure, but it likely has a 260 km range (so the northern, central or eastern oblasts of Ukraine may be under threat)."

if Russia continues to shoot off missiles at Ukrainian cities from inside Russia's borders, then Ukraine will have every right to take Russian territory to create a buffer to defend itself from those attacks. 200km range? 200km Russian territory is now legitimate territory for Ukraine to take.

How can you have a buffer if Russia is still in Ukraine?

How are the Russians so bad at this? This is some Death of Stalin level disfunction.

It is stuff like this that makes me think the Russians will implode in a cloud of incompetence sooner or later. The big question is will the Ukrainians have enough assets to roll the Russians back far enough to change the course of the war. They probably possess too much territory in the Donbas region, but I can see the Russians collapsing in the Zaporizhzhia area and the Ukrainians pushing them back to the sea.
It's 16 months into this war and the Russians are still doing Soviet era stupid stuff.
