This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

Doesn't matter,.. If you bring Ukraine into NATO now you'll have an automatic invocation of article five protocols. No current NATO member will support that.
I didn't say now. You can certainly start discussions and include prospective dates and prospective milestones. It empowers Putin to say we can't even begin to start discussions now.

I don't think you can even start discussions until this mess is well behind us...

Biden isn't advocating for Ukraine to join nato anymore though?

Of course he is, just not while the war is going on. That would immediately throw military members of all countries into the conflict. While I wish that is what would happen, that's not reasonable.

NATO as a defense system would questioned, at a minimum, if Ukraine were to be accepted.

Again, I say this all while wanting Ukraine accepted now but I see the other side.

May have assassinated the wrong commander....oh well.

"At NATO’s summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, there is no time for old men. Young men’s thinking is required. And as New NATO has consistently been showing the way, Old NATO must recognize the birth and renewal of freedom in supporting Ukraine’s fight against Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky embodies that youthful fount of spirit and resolve something not fully present in the actions and decisions of President Joe Biden and his risk-averse administration.

To be clear, Biden has done a considerable amount of good in ensuring Ukraine keeps living to fight another day. But he was far too slow out of the gates, and he is being far too timid now.

Defending liberty never was nor can ever be risk free. Wars are not won playing it safe, but by going on the offensive and risking defeat — or severe repercussions if victory is not achieved.

As NATO’s member-states meet in Vilinius, the U.S. is at an inflection point. To block Russian President Vladimir Putin from imposing his vision of a new, autocratic, multipolar world, we must shift the paradigm.

Washington and Brussels can no longer afford to sit back in the “escalation paralysis” seen so far in this conflict. Rather, the paralysis must be forced upon Putin and his cronies in the Kremlin. It is they who should fear the power of freedom, not us who should fear the decrepit stench of Russian tyranny. Likewise, China’s communist regime should fear going down a similar path in Taiwan."

🔥 @Kasparov63 at the NATO Public Forum today demonstrating exactly how to respond when your country is committing imperial genocide:

“The liberation of Russia from Putin’s fascism will not start until the Ukrainian flag is raised over Sevastopol. Period. Anything else is wishful thinking. You have to kill the idea of empire in the minds of Russians. They have to understand the war is lost.
…Ukraine must win. Ukrainian victory includes three things: liberation, reparation, and justice.
…The big debate is whether it’s Russia’s war or Putin’s war. Unfortunately, it’s Russia’s war. We [in the Russian diaspora] have many voices that are trying to undermine the suffering of Ukrainians. We saw the debate about the shark, ya know, and attacks on the Estonian Prime Minister and others. It’s despicable. Every Russian, myself included, has a responsibility for the crimes committed in Ukraine. …We have no moral right to criticise Ukrainians whatever they do.
People will have this view of Russians as criminals and unfortunately the majority of Russian political opposition, including many groups generously funded by the EU or Americans, they just don’t see it. People who want to leave from Putin’s ‘North Korea’ to our, let’s say, virtual ‘South Korea’ have to say three things in five seconds without stuttering: The war is criminal, the regime is illegitimate, Crimea is Ukraine.”

“Watch a video from the front, where the wounded armies of the Russian Federation, in principle, do not wait for help and blow themselves up with grenades, where soldiers rob their corpses and are afraid to surrender, being more afraid of the “protective detachment” than Ukrainians.

The army of the Russian Federation is the army of the serf Gulag, in which everyone hates each other. And she is fighting to turn the whole world into such a Gulag.”

That is exactly why we had to check people's social media when we deployed. F-ing geotags will getcha every time. Being stupid on purpose is worse.

Mark Toth and his “The Hill” crowd act like all Joe has to do is snap his fingers.
Where has Toth been?
Hanging with the don’t spend money in Europe crowd? Make them pay their way?
Toth brings up Joe’s age, but never gets into how pitiful a similar aged drump has become.
Tell us,toth.

Excellent! This is the French version of the UK's Storm Shadow which has been so devastating.

Russia seems upset.

"Unsurprisingly, the psychopath @EmmanuelMacron
confirms the delivery of (France) #SCALP -EG missiles to the neo-Nazi regime in Kiev which will legitimately allow Russia to launch a blistering retaliation in #Europe of the Is whether these French missiles are used in particular to strike civilians or nuclear power plants on Russian territory Unfortunately, #Macron chose the path of escalation by dangerously arming #Kyiv 's terrorist regime with missiles. Since the NATO countries only understand the language of death, then there will be even more deaths on the NATO-Ukrainian side... Recently, Russian Aerospace Forces blasted a whole stockpile of British Storm Shadow missiles. It would appear that the degenerates in the UK have delivered their last stockpile of Storm Shawdow missiles, which would explain Macron's decision today to supply (Ukraine) SCALP-EG / Storm Shadow missiles. The Vice-President
@Medvedev
has already warned on several occasions of the terrible consequences to which the countries of Eastern Europe expose themselves by playing the game of escalation of #Washington . As a reminder, this is the French version of the Storm Shadow missiles, which have already been delivered to Kiev and which the Russian DCA has been successfully shooting down for two months. According to Russian military sources Telegram, the algorithms of the British Storm Shawdow missile captured by the Russian Army have already been decrypted."
A few more randomly capitalized words and that would read like something on Truth Social.

The stories about the strike on the beach front house in Berdyansk read the same. A bunch of officers in a MTV style living arrangement living it up. Very little concern that they were living within range of Western supplied precision weapons, and in a soft target.

You need to add a column for generals and submarine skippers. +2
Seriously. Russia has lost a lot of high ranking officers. In addition to the generals and colonels reported on, every jet shot down is a potential loss of a highly trained officer.
Let me confer with my sources within the Kiev independent and Ukraine’s ministry of defense.

Article linked on the Biden admin “quietly” debating sending ATACMS to Ukraine.

I appreciate that we boiled the Russian frog slowly, but it came at the expense of Ukrainian lives and territory. And that pot is in a full roiling boil now. Everything short of WMDs and truly next gen technology should be on the table.

Get off your ass Biden
